Bizarre ‘Consumer’ Car Could Be Vehicle Of The Future (VIDEO)
Imagine a car that’s a cross between an ice cream sandwich and an electric razor in its visual design, and you might come up with something resembling the Consumer, a bizarre little thing that just might be the car of the future.
That is, of course, if we end up in a sort of Blade Runner-esque future where cars have virtually no ground clearance because they’re capable of flight. While the Consumer doesn’t fly, you could be forgiven for thinking it might, considering it sports a design so minimalistic, it might as well hail from outerspace. But why is the Consumer called the Consumer? Designer Joey Ruiter claims that the design “consumes everything”, and from the looks of it, the car is well-named. The body of the car almost completely conceals the wheels, while the LED headlight bars are kept behind a huge two-way mirror. It seems like the front-mounted engine offers decent power, but it’s hard to get past the awkwardness of the aesthetic. You can watch the video below:
