Beyonce’s ‘Formation’ Sends Red Lobster Sales Soaring
Beyonce fans flocked to Red Lobster over the weekend after the singer mentioned the restaurant in her viral hit “Formation” on Saturday.
Weekend sales at Red Lobster increased 33% compared to last year, the company said.
CNBC reports that the company is grateful for the sales boost:
“We are absolutely delighted with what we saw over the weekend, particularly the consumer sentiment that we saw expressed,” Kim Lopdrup, CEO of Red Lobster, told CNBC. “It’s clear that Beyonce has helped create some Red Lobster fans, and we are very grateful to her for that.”
The restaurant traditionally experiences a spike in sales during this time of year due to their annual “Lobster Fest” promotion, but Lopdrup credits this weekend’s boost to the R&B star.
In the song “Formation,” Beyonce says: “When he f*ck me good I take his ass to Red Lobster, ’cause I slay.”
This immediately sent fans into a frenzy on social media. Red Lobster got more than 300,000 tweets and trended on Twitter for the first time in the brand’s history.

Nice to know that business was good for Red Lobster this weekend, even if their comeback on social media was a bit lame.
