Bernie Sanders Accepts Donald Trump Debate Challenge

In the latest development for this wild presidential race, Bernie Sanders has formally accepted the debate challenge set out by Donald Trump on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Presumptive Republican nominee Trump spoke up on the Vermont senator, stating he would consider debating Sanders for charity.

“If he paid a sum toward charity I would love to do that,” said Trump, adding that the debate “would have such high ratings.”

It took Sanders virtually no time at all to agree to the debate, declaring on Twitter, “Game On. I look forward to debating Donald Trump in California before the June 7th primary.”

Of course, this is a major blow to Hillary Clinton, who’s being completely ignored in all this, despite being the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination. With that said, Clinton passed up her chance to debate Sanders in California earlier this week, so it’s not that surprising Sanders is bypassing her altogether and accepting the Trump challenge. If nothing else, this ought to be an interesting clash, as it will represent the first Republican vs. Democrat debate of the 2016 presidential race.
