Ben Rothwell Out of UFC 203 Due To Injury
The card to UFC 203 has taken a major hit now that co-headliner Ben Rothwell has been sidelined with an injury. As of right now, Rothwell is officially off the fight card.
The heavyweight was scheduled to take on former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum in a match that was scheduled to co-headline alongside the main event between heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and No. 1 contender Alistair Overeem. However, Rothwell suffered a torn meniscus and a possible ACL tear in training, which means UFC will need to find a replacement for the September 10 fight in Cleveland. It’s a major blow to the card, but I don’t think it’s insurmountable, provided UFC can find a worthwhile replacement. But with the type of trouble they’ve had with recent events, particularly Jon Jones getting pulled from UFC 200 due to a USADA violation, it feels like changed cards are gradually becoming the norm.
So who would you liked to see take Rothwell’s place? Who should get the shot against Fabricio Werdum? Sound off in the comments!
