Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teaming Up for Crossover Comic
San Diego Comic Con 2015 has produced some fairly big announcements, but few as bizarre as the latest announcement from DC Entertainment and IDW Publishing.
The comic book companies have confirmed that Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are teaming up for an upcoming crossover, to be written by James Tynion IV with art by Freddie E. Williams II. The event will be a six part mini-series in which the Turtles are transported from their dimension into Batman’s Gotham City. Together, the crimefighters will team up to stop the villains that have been a thorn in Batman’s side for years.
Tynion IV called the project “a fanboy dream come true,” noting that while he’s written several Batman projects, “it’s always a thrill to see the world of Batman through new eyes.”
The series is scheduled to debut in November, which gives me time to get all the nerdy fangirling excitement out of my system so I can enter the comic book store like a calm, rational adult male. Because Lord knows, if this comic came out tomorrow, it’d be a far different scene.
