Backstage News On WWE Deal For Bill Goldberg
Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar is all but official for Survivor Series in November. And yet, despite that match being rumored for weeks now, the deal was only made official in the past week. But how many matches are part of Goldberg’s deal?
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the current plan is for Goldberg to wrestle just the one match with Lesnar. However, fan response could change both WWE and Goldberg’s minds. If the crowd reacts strongly to Goldberg, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility to see him return for one more match at Wrestlemania. The issue here is that Survivor Series is being held in Toronto, a city where Goldberg hasn’t exactly been popular in the past. But you never know. Nostalgia could change the minds of some of the fans in attendance.
Still, if I had to guess, I really do think this is a one-and-done for Goldberg. I’m sure there are other matches fans would like to see, but I’m not sure Goldberg is up for putting his body through the rigors of more than one match at his age. I suppose we’ll see, judging buy his reaction at Survivor Series. Until then, all we can really do is speculate.
What do you think about Goldberg vs. Lesnar? Is there another match you’d want to see Goldberg take? Sound off in the comments!
