‘Ash vs. Evil Dead’ Renewed for Season 2 By Starz
Ash is back! And his return is not going to be a once-and-done, either!
Starz has renewed Ash vs. Evil Dead for a second season ahead of the show’s series premiere this weekend. Starring Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless, this blood-soaked, darkly comedic continuation of the Evil Dead series will return next year with another 10-episode season. Craig DiGregorio will be back as showrunner for Season 2 with original Evil Dead filmmakers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert serving as executive producers alongside star Campbell, who will be back as Ash. Lawless will also return as Ruby, a badass looking for revenge against Ash for apparently causing this deadite outbreak, although I’d wager money on there being more to the story than Ash being the sole cause of all of this. Honestly though, this is easily my most anticipated show of the fall, considering how distinctive the original films were. Ash vs. Evil Dead is looking to keep their spirit alive and well, and that means we’re likely to get a show that’s unlike anything else on television.
“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two decade-long appetite for more Ash,” said Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik. “The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with season one.”
Ash vs. Evil Dead will premiere this Saturday, October 31. So kick off your Halloween with the King, baby!
