‘America’s Got Talent’ Semi-Final Results 2: Season 10 Finalists Revealed (VIDEO)

Welcome to the live blog and recap of America’s Got Talent 10, “Semi-Final Results 2”! Judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howard Stern are back alongside host Nick Cannon as we continue the search for America’s million dollar act!

Last night’s semi-final show was INSANE! Seriously, I’m not sure I’ve seen this many acts knock it out of the ballpark in one night, which should mean the result will be shocking, since only five acts can go through to next week’s grand finale.

But which five acts do readers predict to advance?

Well, according to our official poll, the five acts advancing to the AGT Season 10 finals are predicted to be (from most votes to least): Paul Zerdin, Piff the Magic Dragon, The Professional Regurgitator, Gary Vider and Freelusion. But it isn’t too late to vote, so head on over and add your prediction to the poll!

Keep it locked right here as I’ll be updating with commentary and videos as the night rolls on!

Let’s get this show on the road!

-So we open with Nick introducing a video recap of last night’s show. I have no idea how America is going to pick, but I think I’m going to hate it if Howard ends up being 100% right in his predictions (mostly because I don’t like the ideal of Gary Vider going through. Nice guy, but I just don’t find him funny). That said, the video does have one really touching moment, as we see Uzeyer backstage after his fall, asking the medic if he lost. As he’s carted away in the ambulance, he tearfully apologizes to his fans for letting them down, and thanking them for believing in him. My heart just aches for this guy.

Coming back to the studio, Nick interviews Uzeyer about how he’s doing after the fall, and he says that although he has a lot of bumps and bruises, he’s simply glad to be here.

The acts that placed fourth, fifth and sixth are…

Gary Vider
Uzeyer Novruzov

Hot damn! Uzeyer is still in this! I didn’t even think he’d place high enough to be eligible to be saved.

Howard thinks this is a little bit strange, saying he’s shocked that Gary is here after the “phenomenal” night he had. He then basically disses the other two acts, saying Freelusion relied too much on special effects, and Uzeyer had a bad night. I mean, he’s right about Uzeyer, and he’s kind of right in implying this is a sympathy vote, but I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with a judge this strongly when it comes to an act, because I just DO NOT get his love for Gary Vider. Dude was just not that funny, in my opinion.

Anyway, Uzeyer is currently leading the voting by a sizable margin, with 43% to Gary’s 34%. Kind of surprised Freelusion is ranked so low.

-We return from break with the three Dunkin’ Save finalists, with Freelusion and Gary Vider talking about their reliance upon their fans to see them through to the next round. Every week, they only ever interview two of the bottom three acts backstage, instead of all three. And I don’t understand why, honestly. All three acts should get to plead their case.

-We then go to the Dunkin’ Donuts Lounge with clips of last night’s party, as Mel B hangs out with the contestants, telling Paul Zerdin that he’ll never be able to do to her what he did to Howie, and then telling Gary he’s free to look at her boobs, if he wants. “They’re beautiful boobs!” he declares.

-Nick calls 3 Shades of Blue and Daniella Mass forward. He then asks Mel B what she thinks, and she says she’s shocked that it’s between these two acts, since they both did well. Nick reads the result…

NEITHER act is going through!

-Mel B is absolutely stunned, saying she’s “really confused now.” She lets them know how sorry she is that it turned out this way for them, and then vows that both acts will have long successful careers. I don’t blame them for reading the results like that, since it makes for good drama, but it IS a pretty lousy thing to do.

-Nick calls Alondra and Piff the Magic Dragon forward. He reads the result…

PIFF THE MAGIC DRAGON advances to the finals!

-Piff thanks everyone who voted, and says he and Mr. Piffles have something very special planned for the finals. Howie says this isn’t a surprise, stating he knew Piff would be in the finals. He advises Piff to stay the course, because they all love what he does.

-We check in with the Dunkin’ Live Save vote, and Uzeyer still has a commanding lead. Honestly, I know a lot of it is the sympathy vote, especially after that heartbreaking video they showed at the top of the episode. But I truly don’t have a problem with it if he goes through, mostly because I prefer him exponentially to Gary Vider. I also think he has more to offer than we’ve seen. That said, if he does go through, I hope he doesn’t try the trick again.

-Back from break as Nick throws to Neil Patrick Harris, who’s backstage promoting the premiere of Best Time Ever. In a cute moment, he freaks out when a piece of the set falls and nearly crushes him. Sure, it’s rehearsed, but NPH can sell just about anything.

-We then throw to a video package in which Howard Stern gets to meet a group of children who hate him. The cutest part is that they all talk about the judges they love before dissing Howard, with one kid declaring that “Mel B is SMOKING hot! I love her accent!” Well, I can’t disagree with him there. But when the kids go in on Howard, they don’t hold back, with one little girl saying that Howard must be 105 years old, and that he needs his glasses because he can’t see far. Howard enters the classroom and freaks the kids out, not by just being there, but by terrifying them with tales of his childhood. No computers! No electricity! No toys! He had to play with rolled up pants!

Howard then answers questions from the kids. One kid asks why Howie wouldn’t shake his hand, and Howard says it’s because Howie hates kids. He then talks trash about his fellow judges, and even talks about how much better looking he is than Nick Cannon. Lastly, he tries to teach the kids how to win America’s Got Talent. He also says Mel B isn’t even that great of a singer, claiming Posh Spice was the real talent in the Spice Girls. Howard then proceeds to butcher “Old Man River” before getting the kids to declare him the best judge of all. This segment was ADORABLE, and I can’t wait until the video goes up so I can post it here, because this needs to be watched. Back in the studio, Howard announces his retirement from AGT…to become a schoolteacher. I’d laugh if that’s really what he ends up doing after AGT.

ACROARMY performs live with LITTLE MIX!

-I LOVED AcroArmy! And I love Little Mix! So I’m instantly on-board with this. The girls sing “Black Magic” while AcroArmy flips around like crazy. Seriously, it’s almost hard to concentrate on Little Mix, because the routine is so high energy and dizzying in spots. However, they slow it down about halfway through, holding poses in order to keep the focus on Little Mix. I really love “Black Magic” as a single. Every time it comes on the radio, I gotta blast it. Reminds me of 90s style pop music, where acts could be corny in their joyfulness. I absolutely loved this.

-I just realized, the show is over half over, and only one act has gone through! Not a whole lot of time left in the show, so Nick keeps things moving forward…

-Nick calls The Professional Regurgitator and Alicia Michilli forward. He reads the result…

THE PROFESSOR REGURGITATOR advances to the finals!

-Stevie thanks America for voting for him, saying he’s come a long way from Scotland to this stage. Heidi congratulates Stevie and calls him her million dollar act, and Stevie is so grateful, he declares that if he could swallow Heidi, he’d never bring her back up. Um…yeah. Still, I’m happy for Stevie. I LOVE his act, and there’s absolutely nothing else like it in the competition.

-Nick calls Sharon Irving and Paul Zerdin forward! He reads the result…

PAUL ZERDIN advances to the finals!

-Paul thanks the judges for their kind comments, and thanks America for their votes. Howard congratulates Paul and says he could be the million dollar act, saying he’s edgier and cooler than other ventriloquists they’ve had on the show. He predicts a final between Paul and The Professional Regurgitator. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns out to be right, but I would still throw Drew Lynch into the conversation for the possible win.

-Nick reveals the result of the Dunkin’ Save…

UZEYER NOVRUZOV advances to the finals!

-Uzeyer breaks down in tears, and he struggles to find the words to thank America. “I love you! I try my best…,” is all he can get out before being overcome with emotion. Was this the pity vote in action? Sure. Do I care? Hell no. GO UZEYER!

-In the recap video before the final judgment, we finally learn what Heidi said in German after Gary’s act: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” DAMN! Heidi with the HEAT! Anyway, onto the final judgment. I’d be shocked if it didn’t go to deadlock, since I fully expect Howard and Howie to vote for Gary, while Heidi and Mel B vote for Freelusion.

Heidi tells Gary not to take her critiques personally, but she’s voting to save Freelusion. Although she warns Freelusion to focus more on their dancing. She makes her vote official…

Heidi Klum votes to save FREELUSION!

Howie disagrees with the other judges about Freelusion’s dance not being up to par, saying he felt they were on-point. Howie then compliments Gary for every joke landing, and says that, being who he is, he has to stay true to stand-up comedy…

Howie Mandell votes to save GARY VIDER!

Mel B is torn because these are both very different acts. She goes with her gut…

Mel B votes to save FREELUSION!

Howard says he can only judge each act by their last performance, so he’s going with the guy who won over the audience in just 90 seconds…

Howard Stern votes to save GARY VIDER!

-So we go to deadlock!

Nick reads the results…

GARY VIDER advances to the finals!

FREELUSION is eliminated from AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 10!

I DON’T GET IT!!!!!!!!!

Ugh. Seriously. Again, totally nice guy, and pretty cool, by all reports. But his comedy is just not for me. Still, congrats to Gary.

-Aaaand that’s a wrap on tonight’s show! The final 10 acts are set! They are…

Derek Hughes
Oz Pearlman
Drew Lynch
Benton Blount (America’s save!)
The CraigLewis Band (Judges’ save!)
Piff the Magic Dragon
Paul Zerdin
The Professional Regurgitator
Uzeyer Novruzov (America’s save!)
Gary Vider (America’s save after judges went to deadlock!)

Absolutely no women in the finals! That’s weird. Has this ever happened before? Anyway, I think this is between The Professional Regurgitator, Paul Zerdin and Drew Lynch. But who knows? It could be anyone’s final. Seriously, I thought it’d come down to Quintavious Johnson and Emily West last year. My prediction game is just not on-point. Like, at all.

-But what did you think of tonight’s results? Did the right acts go through? Sound off in the comments!

Until next week, thanks for reading!
