‘American Idol XIV’ Song Spoilers for ’80s Night’ Theme Revealed

Tonight, the Top 9 on American Idol XIV will compete with songs from an 80s Night theme, as two singers will be eliminated tonight as a result of the decision to save Qaasim Middleton on last week’s show.

But what songs did the remaining 11 finalists choose? And whose songs will we never get to hear tonight due to the double elimination? Check out the song spoilers below and let us know what you think in the comments:

Quentin Alexander – In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins – Download on iTunes
Clark Beckham – Every Breath You Take by The Police – Download on iTunes
Joey Cook – Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper – Download on iTunes
Adanna Duru – I Hate Myself for Loving You by Joan Jett – Download on iTunes
Nick Fradiani – Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson – Download on iTunes
Jax – You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi – Download on iTunes
Tyanna Jones – I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston – Download on iTunes
Qaasim Middleton – Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer – Download on iTunes
Rayvon Owen – Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears – Download on iTunes
Daniel Seavey – You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall & Oats – Download on iTunes
Maddie Walker – Every Rose Has Its Thorn by Poison – Download on iTunes

For the most part, I kind of feel like a lot of these choices feature the contestants indulging their worst impulses. I can’t imagine we aren’t getting another haunting, chamber-style arrangement from Quentin, and I’ll be shocked if we get a performance from Qaasim that is more about vocals than it is about the over-the-top showmanship. And I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that I know exactly what Nick’s performance is going to sound like.

That said, I’m excited to hear what Rayvon, Clark and Joey do with their arrangements, and I even think Maddie has the potential to surprise. Granted, you can take all the guesswork out of it by previewing the tracks on iTunes, but I kind of like the suspense.

But what do you think of the song choices tonight?
