‘American Idol XIV’ Finale: First Guest Performers Announced

Ryan Seacrest has announced the first of the American Idol XIV guest performers for the finale next week.

On his KIIS FM radio show, Seacrest confirmed that we’ll be getting performances from Fall Out Boy, Pitbull, NKOTB, and Jamie Foxx, who’s fresh off his critically-divisive performance of the National Anthem for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight this past weekend. (But hey, he has a perfectly good explanation for the mess!)

In addition, Steven Tyler will join Season 14 finalist Jax onstage, as we learned during last week’s performance/results show. I’d expect a few surprises to come out of this finale, although American Idol finale surprises tend to involve more old-school artists than the relatively modern lineup this finale is boasting. Okay, NKOTB isn’t exactly modern, but they’re still a fun group, for the most part. Of course, I grew up on those guys, so I’m not exactly an objective source here.

Hopefully, this finale gives us a moment or two to remember. Hell, a year later, I’m still digging the performance with Caleb Johnson and KISS.

But what do you think of this lineup so far? Let us know what you think in the comments!
