‘American Idol’ Winner Scotty McCreery Splits with Universal Music
Another “American Idol” winner has parted ways with Universal Music. Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery has left Mercury Nashville/Interscope, reports Billboard.
“I enjoyed being on Mercury Nashville/Interscope and I appreciate all the great people who worked hard on my behalf while I was there,” McCreery said of his Universal Music split. “I am excited about what the future holds and the opportunities being presented to me.”
Scotty McCreery is releasing an autobiography this May at age 22. He is also working on a new album, his fourth, with producer Frank Rogers.
Scotty’s past two studio albums reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and his holiday album reached No. 2.
Where have all the “American Idol” gone? So disappointed that they’ve stopped supporting their Idols. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Fantasia Barrino all have long careers because of fans that keep their careers going during album breaks.
