American Idol Star Hollie Cavanagh Sings Title Song for ‘Come Away With Me’ Film (VIDEO)
American Idol star Hollie Cavanagh has been busy since Season 11, as her latest project illustrates. The singer performs the title song from the award-winning, internationally-acclaimed short film, Come Away With Me.
The song, titled “Come Away With Me Tonight,” makes lovely use of Hollie’s lovely, lilting vocals. The film, according to IMDB, is a deeply moving love story: “Still believing in true. love Ann Chambers is determined to finally live life her way. She summons the courage to attend her High School reunion to find the love of her life, Michael Blake, an all-star athlete and war veteran. Torn apart by war and misunderstanding, life remains full of surprises for them both.”
In this video, we not only get to hear the song, we get to dig deeper into the writing process behind the song, as Hollie talks about what the track means to her, and what writer/director Ellen Gerstein intended with the song. Of course, the music video for the song is nearly a year old, but this Making Of video is finally seeing release for the first time. Both the music video and the Making Of featurette are well worth checking out, especially if you were a fan of Hollie on American Idol (I find myself voting for her a lot out of the underdog principle. And I don’t regret it). This is an absolutely gorgeous song that makes wonderful use of Hollie’s talents. Watch the Making Of followed by the official music video below:
