Alberta Watson Dead at 60
Canadian actress Alberta Watson has died at age 60. According to her agent, she passed away Saturday night at the Kensington Hospice in Toronto. Her husband, Ken, was by her side right up to the end, although her cause of death has not been disclosed.
Watson had a career that spanned four decades, beginning in the late 70s. On the big screen, she appeared in the critically-acclaimed film version of Hedwig and the Angry Inch in 2001, and The Lookout opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Howeer, she was best known for her role on 24 as CTU head Erin Driscoll, a part she played for 13 episodes. She also starred on The CW’s Nikita, reprising her role as Senator Madeline Pierce from the original La Femme Nikita series.
