8 Dearly Departed TV Characters We’d Bring Back to Life
This past season of Pretty Little Liars revealed that the murder-mystery series’ unsung (or way over-sung) star was never dead at all. Alison DiLaurentis lives on to ruin the lives of more unsuspecting teenage dweebs and frumps, adding a whole new realm of crazy to the ABC family guilty pleasure. Alison’s murder was always a question mark, though. Now that Alison is alive (probably), on the run, and well, we can’t help but think of several other TV characters we’ve surely lost forever along the way. Yes, most of these folks left us with good reason. Still, here’s a moment mourn the story lines that could have been!
Warning: Spoilers Ahead!
Richard Harrow (Boardwalk Empire)
Did the unexpected death of the masked marksman put the final nail in the coffin of Jimmy Darmody? Richard Harrow might not have been the most vital character to the central plot of Boardwalk Empire last season, but his special presence as a heartfelt antihero continued to make the HBO drama worth watching. Harrow might have had his fair share of blood on his hands, but if anybody on this show deserved to have any semblance of a happy ending when this thing ends, it was Richard.
Jimmy Darmody (Boardwalk Empire)
Come to think of it, I don’t think we’ll ever really recover from the loss of James Darmody. The ghost of Michael Pitt still haunts the screens of our TVs as Boardwalk Empire continues to shed buckets of blood across the Atlantic City pier. Still, there was something about watching the police dig up the remains of Jimmy during last season’s close that rattled the bones a little too much.
Allison Argent (Teen Wolf)
If Crystal Reed wanted to leave, then it was time for her to go, but it’s sort of unheard of for a female lead to be killed off of a supernatural dramedy on the penultimate episode of the show’s third season. Yes, it was one of the greatest moments that MTV’s Teen Wolf ever produced, but what does an awesome moment of shock and substance mean for the rest of the series? No teenage girl is more kick-ass than Allison Argent was!
Jesus (True Blood)
Without Jesus in the picture to spice up his love life, Lafayette’s storyline last season was basically non-existent! Yes, rumors have swirled that True Blood is casting a new leading man in Lafayette’s life, but here’s to hoping that Bon Temps’ most colorful character doesn’t waste his shortened final season simply chasing after some new guy.
Terry Bellefleur (True Blood)
While we’re on the topic of True Blood, it’s probably safe to say that Terry’s presence on the HBO series ran its course even before his super sad suicide last season, but how can Arlene possibly find peace in the show’s final few episodes now that her kids have lost yet another father figure to the daily doom of Bon Temps? Doesn’t part of you wish the Bellefleurs could have simply rode off into the sunset?
Beverly Katz (Hannibal)
It’s been confirmed that last week’s episode was the last time we’ll ever see Beverly Katz. Well, it was the last time we’ll see her alive. Jack Crawford’s spunkiest crime scene investigator and Will Graham’s only active ally fell victim to one of Hannibal Lecter’s traps in what seemed like an untimely death, though it should be noted that Bryan Fuller never really intended on keeping Beverly around this long to begin with. Hettienne Park was just too great to let go!
Lexi (The Vampire Diaries)
Stefan Salvatore’s oldest and dearest friend has popped up here and there as a guest star on The Vampire Diaries, but each and every appearance only leaves us wanting more of his longtime confidant. Perhaps the brevity of their reunions is what makes this friendship so great to begin with. Yes, his friendship with Caroline is one of the show’s most endearing relationships, and Lexi has done nothing but cheer these two on from beyond the grave. Still, one can’t help but feel that Lexi got the short end of the stake when it comes to this deal.

Khal Drogo (Game of Thrones)
It’s true that Drogo’s necessary passing paved the way for our Khaleesi’s path to power, but that doesn’t mean we can’t miss the big lug looking after “the Moon of [his] life” as Daenerys Targaryen conquers city after city in Slaver’s Bay in her quest to sit upon the Iron Throne. Never fear! He lives on in the rapidly growing Drogon the dragon, perhaps stronger than ever.
