50 Cent to Bankruptcy Court: The Money in My Instagram Photos Is Fake

After filing for bankruptcy back in July, 50 Cent claimed that all his wealth is an illusion, including his jewelry, cars, and homes, which he “rents” to maintain his brand.

Now, his Instagram photos containing stacks of hundreds have come into question, with 50 telling the court that the stacks of bills are just prop money.

“Hip-hop culture is widely recognized as aspirational in nature,” Cent said in a written declaration to the concerned judge. “The standard by which artists and fans engage is commonly tied to money, jewelry, products and advertising over social media.”

“Products and brands are now marketed through social media as an effective way to engage with consumers. Just because I am sensitive to the needs of maintaining my brand does not mean that I am hiding assets or that I have lied on my filings in this Bankruptcy Case, neither of which is true.”

Do you believe the rapper, or do you think this is all an elaborate plot to not pay damages in all his lost lawsuits? Sound off in the comments!
