2018 Honda Civic Type R Prototype Is Here And It’s Beautiful (VIDEO)
After an endless cycle of anticipation, Honda has finally unveiled the Civic Type R prototype at the Paris auto show. Japanese and European Honda R&D groups teamed up for the production model, which will be built exclusively at Honda’s plant in Swindon, UK.
There are noticeable differences from earlier concepts of the Type R. Gone are the front fender vents, and a wider array of trim types than previous generations, as consumers can choose between performance-oriented versions and the more casual styles. While Honda is keeping a lid on engine and output, the car is being touted as “the fastest, most powerful Civic ever built.” Furthermore, the company confirmed that the 2018 CTR model will come to America, with the Si trim arriving next year as well.
