2017 Nissan GT-R Debuts at New York International Auto Show (VIDEO)
The New York International Auto Show is underway, and one of the first major reveals of the show has been made, as we’re getting our first look at the 2017 Nissan GT-R!
Nissan’s flagship supercar is getting its most significant redesign ever, in an attempt to appeal to Grand Touring and Racing enthusiasts. Among the new improvements are revamped styling, a new horsepower rating of 565, and a premium cabin featuring hand-selected Nappa leather, a slicker front seat design, and a more straightforward switch layout. In addition, all GT-Rs will feature the state-of-the-art NissanConnectSM, a dash-mounted system that combines navigation, security, communication and entertainment in a streamlined way that cuts down on driver distractions. Get your first look at the new car by watching the video below:
“As the standard bearer for great Japanese engineering and design, the GT-R has always remained true to its Japanese character. It symbolizes Nissan’s ability to set the agenda,” said Daniele Schillaci, the executive vice president of Global Marketing & Sales at Nissan Motor Company. “From the onset, GT-R has pushed the envelope by combining the class and refinement of Grand Touring vehicles with the power and precision of a racing car. This new 2017 GT-R refines the legend in a most powerful way.”
Needless to say, it’s looking like Nissan is going all-in on the GT-R as the standard bearer of their brand. And I can’t say it’s a bad idea, really, particularly when it’s got such broad appeal.
