Thoughts

This is perhaps the one week where I really don’t have anything to add. For me, this was pretty much the right result. I didn’t dislike Luke last night, but he was one of the weaker performances when all was said and done. Even with Tamera forgetting her words and Rough Copy being given a terrible song choice for their voices and style, I still found their performances to have more going for them than either Sam’s or Luke’s. With that said, both chaps took it like men, showing poise and maturity in a situation where many other singers have fallen apart.

I’ve been a vocal proponent of Sam Callahan leaving for weeks now, but even then, I still find him to be a really cool, down-to-Earth guy. If only his talent matched his likability. Ah well, it’s not as if he can’t still grow over the years. Gary Barlow said himself that he wasn’t the best singer at 19 either. Of course, this isn’t to excuse the iffy performances Sam has turned in, but I can see why other people see a star in him.

So what did you think of this result? Did the UK get it right? Sound off in the comments!
