The X Factor UK – Recap and Results – Live Show 6 – 11/17/2013
Here is the recap and results for The X Factor UK Live Show 6 on November 19, 2013.
Two acts hit the bottom 2 for the first time!
The Top 7 perform “Never Forget” by Take That
Gary Barlow sings “Let Me Go” (I kind of loved this. A lot)
Miley Cyrus sings “Wrecking Ball”
Luke Friend sings “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” by U2
(Has any contestant ever used an instrument during a sing-off before? I can’t recall having seen it)
Luke Friend – X Factor Live Shows, Week 6 survival song ‘Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’ on MUZU.TV.
Sam Callahan sings “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls
Louis Walsh abstains from voting
Nicole Scherzinger sends home Sam Callahan
Gary Barlow sends home Sam Callahan
Sam Callahan is eliminated from The X Factor UK!
This is perhaps the one week where I really don’t have anything to add. For me, this was pretty much the right result. I didn’t dislike Luke last night, but he was one of the weaker performances when all was said and done. Even with Tamera forgetting her words and Rough Copy being given a terrible song choice for their voices and style, I still found their performances to have more going for them than either Sam’s or Luke’s. With that said, both chaps took it like men, showing poise and maturity in a situation where many other singers have fallen apart.
I’ve been a vocal proponent of Sam Callahan leaving for weeks now, but even then, I still find him to be a really cool, down-to-Earth guy. If only his talent matched his likability. Ah well, it’s not as if he can’t still grow over the years. Gary Barlow said himself that he wasn’t the best singer at 19 either. Of course, this isn’t to excuse the iffy performances Sam has turned in, but I can see why other people see a star in him.
So what did you think of this result? Did the UK get it right? Sound off in the comments!

I'm good with these results, but must say that that was Sam's best performance. He actually sounded like he could sing a bit.......I have to say again here that if this were XFactor US, the judges would've strategically sent the strongest singer home. I love this about the UK show: they appreciate their competition and keep the good ones around because they deserve to stay.
James Arthur played guitar on his sing-off performance of "Fallin" by Alicia Keyes, last season.
Beyond that, I dunno. Only been watching XF UK since Season 8.. Also, really glad Sam C. is finally gone.
Oh gosh, I knew Sam would be in the bottom 2, but was surprised with Luke. love his raspyness. Hannah has a great voice, but she always sounds like she has nasal congestion. My thoughts would have been either her or Tamara along with Sam...to forget lyrics at this stage in the game is not acceptable...to me. just my thoughts.
