The X Factor UK 2012 – Official Season Vote Totals

Credit: ITV

Each season, after the grand finale, the voting totals for the season are announced on The X Factor UK. This year is no different, as ITV was able to reveal that Liverpool’s own Christopher Maloney led the vote for the first seven weeks of the competition, only ceding the top spot after eventual winner, James Arthur, landed in the bottom 2 alongside presumptive frontrunner, Ella Henderson.

The list is full of interesting data, as James Arthur frequently landed in the middle of the pack for much of the competition, while Rylan Clark frequently leaped all over the list, rising as high as third in Week 2.

Well, definitely proved that Bottom 2 scares are effective.

interesting:

- Ellas fanbase was completly overestimated.

- The act with the fewest votes always got eliminated (Even when the judges votes decided it)

- Union J YOYOed the whole competition

- Lucy Spraggan was always next to james in the rankings (in aroud 5th, 6th) and the week she left, he jumped to 3rd place (vote splitting?)

- Apart from week 1 District 3 always did better than Union J, until the week they got eliminated.

This is the reason it doesnt bother me that they reveal the rankings on the x factor USA, jahmane and Christopher topped the votes every week until week 8 (Tate and Carly in the USA case) , and james Arthur ended up winning after an average 5th place. Anything could happen.

@realphill excellent comments. Would add Arthur took control of vote from week 8. He gained all of the Ella vote from previous week as well as 5% from Maloney, 3% Union J and 7% from Rylan swing voters. James never looked back peaking at the end of the season while Maloney continued to fall.

@realphill Precisely why American Idol should open up the rankings on iTunes just like The Voice. It doesn't matter -- unless they are hell-bent on manipulating everything in secret.

@Rickey @realphill Agreed, ive always admired ITVs gesture of releasing the full voting stats at the end of every season, it gives the show some kind of credibility, some USA show should do the same... yes, im looking at you IDOL.
