WWE WRESTLEMANIA 32 PRE-SHOW RESULTS
-Mauro Ranallo, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Byron Saxton are announcing.
-Kalisto defeated Ryback to retain the United States Championship after hitting the Salida del Sol.
-Team Total Divas (Brie Bella, Paige, Natalya, Alicia Fox and Eva Marie) defeated Team B.A.D. & Blonde (Lana, Summer Rae, Naomi, Emma and Tamina) when Brie Bella made Naomi tap out to the Yes! Lock. After the match, Nikki Bella came out to celebrate with Team Total Divas.
-WWE Hall of Famer Lita debuted the NEW WWE Women’s Championship belt. Yup, it’s no longer the “Divas” title. The belt is actually pretty damn lovely. It’s basically a smaller version of the WWE World Heavyweight championship, with a white strap rather than black. Check it out…
-The Usos defeated the Dudleyz following a superkick on Devon. After the match, the Dudleyz tried to put the Usos through a pair of tables, but the brothers managed to escape and end up putting the Dudleyz through the tables with dual top rope splashes.
WWE WRESTLEMANIA 32 MAIN SHOW RESULTS
-Multi-platinum recording artists Fifth Harmony sing “America the Beautiful” to open the show. Great performance.
-Zack Ryder won a ladder match against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, The Miz, Sin Cara, Dolph Ziggler and Stardust to become the NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion after tossing The Miz off of the ladder. It was a hellacious match that saw Sin Cara putting Stardust through a ladder on the outside, Sami Zayn suplexing Kevin Owens onto the top of a ladder to put him out of commission, and Dolph Ziggler going on a glorified superkick spree, among other awesome moments.
-Chris Jericho defeated AJ Styles by pinfall after reversing the Phenomenal Forearm into a Codebreaker. Really good match, as both men traded finishers back and forth, and generally just gave it their all out there. Granted, I could have done without seeing Jericho kick out of BOTH the Styles Clash AND the springboard 450 splash, but it’s clear this is a feud that will continue, so I’m not too shocked that Jericho got the win here.
-The League of Nations defeated The New Day when Sheamus pinned Xavier Woods following a Brogue Kick. After the match, The League of Nations bragged about their dominance, prompting Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley and Stone Cold Steve Austin to come out and lay a beating on the foreign heels. Afterwards, Xavier tried to get Austin to dance with him, and got a stunner for his troubles.
-Brock Lesnar defeated Dean Ambrose after a German Suplex and F-5 onto a pile of steel chairs.
-WWE Hall of Fame video package followed by the 2016 Hall of Fame Class coming out to the stage to greet the live audience.
-Charlotte retained the WWE Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks after making Sasha Banks tap out to the Figure 8. Sasha had tried to break up the submission, but Ric Flair held her leg to prevent her from getting back in the ring. Interestingly, Sasha was played to the ring by her cousin, Snoop Dogg. It was a cool little Wrestlemania moment. After the match, Lita presented the new Women’s Championship belt to Charlotte, who celebrated with her father.
-The Undertaker defeated Shane McMahon in a Hell In a Cell match after delivering the Tombstone piledriver. Shane had to be taken out on a stretcher after the match due to having performed an insane elbow drop off the top of the Cell onto the announce table (Undertaker moved out of the way at the last moment).
-NXT superstar Baron Corbin won the 3rd Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, last eliminating Kane. The match featured several surprise entrants, including Tatanka, Diamond Dallas Page, and SHAQUILLE O’NEAL! In a surprising outcome, Shaq and Big Show squared off, only for all the other participants to gang up on them, making the behemoths the first two entrants eliminated from the match.
-The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders came out for a live segment, followed by THE ROCK, who goes on to light a “ROCK” sign on fire with a flamethrower. In the ring, he gives an extended, joking promo about Wrestlemania, before revealing that the Wrestlemania attendance record has now been broken with 101,763 fans in attendance. However, the interview is interrupted by The Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt and The Rock go back-and-forth verbally, before The Rock challenges a member of the Wyatts to a match. He then removes his sweatpants to reveal he’s wearing his wrestling trunks. Bray sends Erick Rowan to answer the challenge, and…
-The Rock defeats Erick Rowan in six seconds following a Rock Bottom. After the match, Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman surround The Rock. However, JOHN CENA is here to help The Rock. Together, they clear the ring: Strowman is thrown to the outside, Rowan receives a Five-Knuckle Shuffle and an AA, and Bray Wyatt gets a spinebuster and a People’s Elbow. Rock then grabs a microphone, welcomes Cena back, and ends with an “If ya smell what The Rock is cooking!” The two former champs pose to the crowd to end the segment, which lasted the better part of a half an hour, all told.
-Roman Reigns defeated Triple H to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion after hitting him with a spear. During the match, Reigns accidentally speared Stephanie McMahon. HHH then tried to use his sledgehammer to take control. But Reigns managed to hit the spear first.
