WWE Star Seth Rollins Challenges Conor McGregor on ESPN (VIDEO)

Conor McGregor has been slandering WWE and its current stars all over the media recently, and it hasn’t gone over well with the WWE locker room. Case in point, former WWE champion Seth Rollins struck back against McGregor for his comments, and sent out a challenge in the process.

In an interview with ESPN, Rollins declared that he is “a full-sized human being” who’d love a chance to get in the ring with Conor. While probably not the most serious challenge ever thrown out, Rollins clearly seemed to be telling McGregor to either put up or shut up.

“If he was serious about it, guy’s 5’6”, 145 or whatever he walks around at, I don’t know,” Rollins stated. “But you can see me here, I’m a full-size human being. So if he wants to come around and try to slap the face off me or whatever insult he’s got for the day, by all means, come step into our ring and see what you got.”

To the credit of Rollins, he appears to understand that Conor’s trash-talking was simply an attempt to sell extra PPV buys for UFC 202 this Saturday. If nothing else, Conor has a very pro wrestling mindset when it comes to using trash talk to sell tickets and pay-per-view buys (it’s a tactic that’s been around longer than the more brash, modern style of pro wrestling, to boot, judging by the success of guys like Muhammad Ali). Granted, Conor is a whole lot more annoying about it than a lot of other fighters, but again, that’s part of the game, to make you want to pay to see him get shut down. I don’t know if that will happen on Saturday, or if we’ll ever see Conor McGregor in a WWE ring, but I can’t pretend as though he wouldn’t fit right in.
