WWE Smackdown Spoilers for 05/05/2016: Reigns and Usos vs. Styles, Gallows, and Anderson

The WWE Smackdown spoilers are in for this week, but what can we expect to see on Thursday night’s show?

The show features champions in action, whether in matches or in full-scale brawls. We have Intercontinental Champion The Miz taking on Sami Zayn, Natalya teaming with Becky Lynch to take on Emma and WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte, and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns teaming with The Usos to take on No. 1 contender AJ Styles and his allies, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, in a six-man tag team main event rematch from RAW. We also have the Smackdown return of Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel, and a surprising new alliance between a former tag team champion and a WWE Hall of Famer! WWE Smackdown Spoilers for 05/05/2016

-The show opened with the Smackdown return of Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel. His guest for this segment was Sami Zayn. Jericho bragged about putting Dean Ambrose in the hospital, among other things. The Miz interrupted, which led to the first match of the night.

-Sami Zayn defeated Intercontinental champion The Miz by disqualification after Sami Zayn interfered. After the match, Cesaro came down and cleared the ring, posing with The Miz’s Intercontinental title belt.

-AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson had a talk backstage. Anderson and Gallows told Styles that he’ll need to get extreme to defeat Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules. Styles decided to go have a talk with Reigns.

-The Vaudevillains defeated The Social Outcasts (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel). After the match, Big Cass confronted The Vaudevillains and laid them both out with powerbombs. He then powerbombed Axel, for good measure.

-Natalya and Becky Lynch defeated Emma and WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte after Emma submitted to the Sharpshooter.

-AJ Styles confronted Roman Reigns in his locker room to see if he planned on interfering in The Usos vs. Gallows and Anderson match later in the show. Reigns assures Styles that he does what he wants, when he wants.

-Rusev defeated Zack Ryder. After the match, United States Champion Kalisto attacked Rusev and cleared the ring.

-Fandango tried to teach Goldust new dance moves backstage. R-Truth and Tyler Breeze got in on it, with everyone ending up dancing. Later on, there was another backstage segment in which WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund is approached by Darren Young. Turns out Young wants Backlund to be his new life coach. Ultimately, Backlund agreed to being Young’s new life coach after telling him wrestling is life. Backlund vowed to “Make Darren Great Again”.

-The Usos vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson ended in a no contest after Reigns interfered. Anderson goaded him into interfering by attacking him at ringside. This turned into a six-man tag team main event.

-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and The Usos defeated AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson after Reigns speared Anderson for the win. Reigns and Styles had a staredown to end the show.
