WWE Smackdown Spoilers for 04/28/2016: Champion vs. Champion Main Event

The Smackdown spoilers are in for this week, as we are in the final build to WWE Payback 2016! But what can we expect to see on Thursday night’s show?

Well, for one, we’ll be getting a champion vs. champion main event, as WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will take on Intercontinental Champion The Miz. Also on tap is a six-man tag team match that could spell the end for the League of Nations. In addition, we get two rematches from Monday Night Raw, as Apollo Crews takes on Stardust, and Baron Corbin takes on Damien Sandow in a match that never happened on Monday night due to interference by Dolph Ziggler. We also get appearnces from WWE championship No. 1 contender AJ Styles, top tag team contenders The Vaudevillains and Enzo & Big Cass, tag team champions The New Day, and Women’s champion Charlotte squaring off with No. 1 contender Natalya in a heated installment of the Ambrose Asylum with Dean Ambrose. -Roman Reigns kicks off the show with a promo. He says he punched AJ Styles on Monday, and he’ll do it again at Payback. That said, he doesn’t believe AJ is in collusion with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. He calls out AJ to clear the air, but The Miz and Maryse come out instead. This leads to a brawl in which Reigns is left standing tall.

-Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Kalisto defeated Sheamus, Del Rio, and Rusev by countout. During the match, each member of the League of Nations walked out, one-by-one. First, Albert Del Rio bails on the match, followed by Rusev several minutes later. Sheamus hangs in there for a bit, but ultimately decides to leave as well, which led to the countout. Backstage, the League of Nation members shove each other. Looks like this group is done.

-Baron Corbin defeated Damien Sandow in a short match.

-Backstage, AJ Styles tells Renee Young he will be ringside for the main event between Roman Reigns and The Miz.

-Ambrose Asylum with Dean Ambrose features Women’s champion Charlotte and No. 1 contender Natalya. Natalya says the odds will be even since her uncle Bret Hart will be in her corner at Payback. However, Ric Flair says he’s beaten Bret all over the world. Flair loses control in the promo and actually tells Natalya to go kill herself, apparently. Bet that gets edited out. Natalya quickly responds by saying Bret has beaten Flair too — most memorably by taking Flair’s WWE title, which is what she’s going to do to Charlotte.

-Enzo Amore & Big Cass defeated Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas of the Social Outcasts. The New Day did commentary and made Byron Saxton sit on the floor for the duration. The Vaudevillains watched the match from the entrance ramp. After Enzo & Cass win, Cass declares The Vaudevillains to be “s-a-w-f-t”.

-Apollo Crews defeated Stardust

-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns defeated Intercontinental Champion The Miz with a spear. Afterwards, Anderson and Gallows ran in to beat down Reigns. AJ Styles, who was watching the match at ringside, did nothing to stop them. This brought out the Usos, who helped Reigns clear the ring. Reigns then clotheslined AJ over the top rope to stand tall, as Smackdown came to a close.
