What the heck.
As reported here, ‘Whip My Hair’ hitmaker Willow Smith was cast to play the lead role in a reboot of the classic children’s film ‘Annie’. Produced by Jay Z and her parents Will & Jada Pinkett Smith, the’21st Century Girl’ was set to bring an updated version of the prized musical to the 21st century…
That is, until reports surfaced today indicating otherwise. Citing Smith simply “outgrowing” the role as cause of her exit, it does the appear the Will Gluck-directed movie has not halted production in her absence.
As time of reporting, no release date has been set for the film. The search for her replacement, however, is said to be nearing its close.
Clearly they are letting this child do WHATEVER she wants to do. Don’t have her in the spotlight if she’s not going to be controlled. Everyone knows that Willow’s career has gone down the toilet since “Whip My Hair” (for her teen years at least), because she hasn’t been appealing to her audience, and quite frankly it seems that she doesn’t want to (i.e. new look). She’s not the same girl from WMH, and not the one America fell in love with.
On the bright side, when your Will and Jada’s kid I guess it doesn’t matter. After all, Willow doesn’t really even need a career. I guess this is just a hobby to her. So forget what I said. Carry on…
Meanwhile, cast Chloe & Hallie in Annie now, please.
