The CW has officially announced that its hugely popular series, The Vampire Diaries, is getting the spinoff treatment. Development has begun on a series featuring none other than Joseph Morgan’s Klaus! In addition, viewers will get to see an unofficial pilot air within the current season of The Vampire Diaries, testing the waters for spinoff success after sister-series The Secret Circle failed to be a smash hit.

Speaking of The Secret Circle, guess who’s going to be following Klaus on his escapades to New Orleans? Phoebe Tonkin, who plays sexy she-wolf Hayley, is set to partner up with the Original Vampire in an episode fittingly entitled “The Originals”! Julie Plec will write the episode and act as showrunner on the new spinoff project.

Finally! Couldn't get enough of Joseph Morgan in VD, so I was hoping and praying that Joseph Morgan would get his own show. Now, the fact that it will be as Klaus in a Vampire Diaries spinoff ...... can't ask for more!
