UFC Star Ronda Rousey Thought About Killing Herself After Holly Holm Loss (VIDEO)
Ronda Rousey was clearly affected by her shocking loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193. But until now, we never knew just how deeply, as the MMA fighter admitted she contemplated suicide after losing her Bantamweight title. In an emotional interview on Ellen, Rousey fought back tears as she talked about the immediate aftermath of her first professional loss.
“Honestly, my thought I was like, in the medical room and I was down in the corner. I was sitting in the corner like, What am I anymore if I’m not this? And I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself at that exact second.” Rousey continued, “I’m like I’m nothing … what do I do anymore and no one gives a sh*t about me anymore without this.”
But what brought her out of her suicidal mindset? The love of her boyfriend, fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne. Rousey stated, “To be honest I looked up and I saw my man [UFC fighter Travis Browne] was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, ‘I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive. Really that was it.'”
It’s a heartbreaking interview, but also kind of uplifting, to see how Rousey is pulling through all of this. To watch the interview, check out the video below:
