TV Ratings: ‘The Voice’ clobbers ‘The X Factor’ easily – 10/30/2013
The Voice had a 3.5 adult rating on Tuesday and 11.4 million viewers, the #1 show of the night, easily beating a special Tuesday-show of The X Factor.
The X Factor had a 1.5 rating — its lowest ever — and 4.8 million viewers. This is a number that could get this show canceled. Simon Cowell is in big trouble now. Let’s enjoy the season and series while it lasts kids — it looks like this could be the end. I have a hard time seeing this show bounce back into the mid-2′s next week.
NCIS had a 3.1 rating and 19 million viewers, the most watched show of the night.
The Originals had a 0.9 rating and 2 million viewers.
The Biggest Loser had a 1.8 rating and 6 million viewers.
NCIS: Los Angeles had 2.6 rating and 14.8 million viewers.
Supernatural had a 1.1 rating and 2.2 million viewers.
Person of Interest had 1.9 and 11.9 million viewers.
The Goldbergs had a 1.7 rating and 5.37 millioin viewers.
Trophy Wife had a 1.4 rating and 4.27 million viewers.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Shark Tank were on repeats.
OK, The Goldbergs on ABC and The Biggest Loser on NBC had a better adult rating than The X Factor, what’s up with that?
Go The Voice!

Got Something to Add?
Do they break down how it does with a younger demo? Maybe I am wrong but it appears that hit clips from Xfactor get 4 to 1 the viewership that the most popular clips from the Voice get. Post-show, it seems possible that the girl group from last season--whatever they are called, lol--or Emblem3 or Alex & Sierra from this season can go on to much more success than anyone from the Voice, at least with the younger demo. It is kind of sad that even an amazing talent like Cody Belew can't really get much lift from the Voice. A little, but not what I'd have thought. Am I wrong? Some of you guys know way better than I do, I'm just surmising.
This is totally Paulina's fault, and now Mario speaks too much Spanish too! She provided nothing to help the failing show. I don't know who came up with the idea to hire her, because really nobody likes her (or even knows her). The buzz just went down a lot, which is really sad, because this is my favorite singing show, honestly I don't even watch Idol or Voice. They even edited out her comments most of the time. Her category, the boys, being the weakest of the weakest bunch, makes it even WORSE.
Problem with all these shows is that they are so dopey. They need to make it feel again like they were trying to get a stupendous talent. XFactor should change everything up. Because of the success of One Direction perhaps, it became goofy. It should be live from NYC. They need a serious guy judge like a Billy Joel or Paul McCartney. They should open it up to anyone, signed or not, who wants to compete. They should select early and make sure contestants are ready to go with well-rehearsed songs, not stuff learned in one week.
Usually I agree w Rickey but I don't agree with him about the Voice. Yes it is a successful show but it does next to nothing for most of the artists who appear on it--except the judges. Just look on youtube or twitter: people who had very modest success on Xfactor, however unwatched, can get a much bigger following than Voice contestants. it's not just demographics. It's the way the shows present and treat the talent. Lilly/Nicole wouldn't get anywhere on the Voice; the judges wouldn't even turn around. On Xfactor, she gets a spotlight and suddenly she has 4 million youtube hits.
how can they expect good ratings when the last show aired October 10 and suddenly the show appears on a tuesday! MESS
Simon SHOULD not left UK version....yet, the USA needs to abit more like the production UK...I love the UK version...USA is so-so....
In past season I used to watch them both but I've grown weary of the X Factor and haven't seen it once this year. Love everything about The Voice: Format, Coaches, Talent, Host.
@jewels There is just something so fake and contrived about the US production, I agree the UK production feels more genuine. Heck, even the Australia version is better than the US version.
I don't think they can fix it at this point.
@Forever504 Yes, but The X Factor couldn't even beat The Biggest Loser head to head! It was DOA.
