Tony Awards 2016 Winners List: ‘Hamilton’ Sweeps, To the Surprise of No One

The Tony Awards 2016 aired tonight, and it was one hell of an evening for Lin-Manuel Miranda and Hamilton.

The historical hip-hop musical swept the awards with 11 awards, including Best Actor for Leslie Odom Jr., Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Renee Elise Goldberry, Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Daveed Diggs, Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical honors for creator Lin-Manuel Miranda (and on Puerto Rican Day, no less!), and Best Musical. In short, while Hamilton failed to break the record for Tony wins, the show did manage to prevent the awards themselves from being distributed all that evenly.

However, that wasn’t all, as The Color Purple won for Best Revival of a Musical, and Best Actress in a Musical for Cynthia Erivo, marking the first time in Tony Awards history that all four musical acting awards have gone to people of color. All in all, it was a big night for theater.

But which shows took home Tony Awards? Check out the winners list below:
