Tim Urban – C’mon Get Higher – Video MP3 American Idol Top 20 Performance
Tim Urban sings “C’mon Get Higher” by Matt Nathanson on the American Idol Top 20
Tim was born into a family of best friends.
Ellen DeGeneres: You should act! There’s no charisma, there’s no stage presence.
Kara DioGuardi: I like the song choice but you didn’t make it your own.
Randy Jackson: It was very karaoke for me. I did not get it.
Simon Cowell: I think that was a marked improvement from last week. You chose a young song. You were more relevant tonight than the others.

Got Something to Add?
A lot of you keep talking about him not being a great singer, about his imperfect voice.
But this aint about picking the next Pavarotti, cause then none of the contestants would match up, this is about finding a new popstar.
The very imperfections in his voice actually heightens my experience of this his last performance(didnt like his previous song-selection), it came through as a very "true" and honest performance.
Very entertaining to me, much like Lee Dewyze, both of them are true "popstars" in the making in my humble opinion, while others with much more perfect voices aint even coming close.
wow,he can sing,he need more practise and find way better choice.this choice isnt bad is good but not the most suitable.he needs something else to make him a star as an artist.he is handsome without the makeup by the way.
I will bet Tim will be around for a few more weeks. The way he came into this contest is fascinating. And I like his choice of music.
He doesn't have the greatest voice. But there are other ways he could still win, based upon personality and musical expression.
For example, towards the end of "Get Higher", I wish he could have sustained that climactic note for three seconds longer -- "hold on", and then come back completely out of breath on "drown me". That would have really been cool. But, it didn't happen.
My advice to him would be to work on expression and personality. Maybe next week....
omg omg omg omg hes SOO hot :P Antonella Barba (Season 6) and him both got to where they are by looks. its unfair, of course but atleast hes not the worse guy :P the hotness is a bonus but meh, nothing special vocal wise
I'm a girl and he definitely looks cute to me, but somehow I just wanna wipe his big smirk right off his face while he was pulling ppl to vote 4 him. He's already good looking, he really doesn't need to TRY THAT HARD TO ACT CUTE...
This guy is precious!....in the realm of pop stars, this was a pretty good performance! He's just as good a singer as Taylor Swift, Boys Like Girls, Katy Perry, etc...and meh, I like pop so he does it for me even though his vocals may not be top notch....in the realm of pop, it doesn't matter! XD
My fav of the nite,,,very nice tone... still seems nervous but as Simon says somtimes he could be the dark horse.
So bad but so cute at the same time. He may stick around longer than those more talented but less genetically blessed.
I thnk we all know why he's actually still there and it has nothing to do with singing ability (or lackthereof). He has the weakest voice of the remaining contestants, he has no stage presence and his facial expressions and beady little eyes vacantly staring into the camera are as creepy as they are hilarious.
Man, the judges are really grilling him. But I have to agree with Simon, he really did seem to listen to the judges and was so much better this week than last.
Those ARMS! <3
Om nom nom.
Actually a pretty decent vocal, I'm glad he stayed in his range this time, that falsetto last night was like, criminally bad.
I liked last week more (except the falsetto) but I don't know this song as well. I just wasn't feeling the third part. He's hot though.
Did Simon give him the kiss of death by saying he liked it? I hope not.
I'll throw some votes Tim's way because I think he has some potential, isn't a jerk like some guys, but he has no shot at winning. Ellen is right: he'd be great on Glee.
NOT worst of the night.
I listened to the MP3 he's okay. Then I decided to watch the video. I'm annoyed by the look of his face. I clicked the X button after 3 seconds. LOL
Actually, he CAN act, and he does it well. In December he was in a production of "Two From Galilee" playing the male lead, Joseph, and he received standing ovations after every performance. I've also heard him sing backstage as he was warming up, and he's a natural. His performance this week was very good, but he can do better still, and he will.
bah so everyone's an expect in music now, huh? evryone's a randy wannabe ... keep saying pitchy doesn' mean you're smart. Tim Urban's performance tonight is great, he doesn' have the best vocal but he delivers it straight & sweet, i will want to listen it over and over again in my iPod. Not all singers that chart in Billboard top 100 has great vocals, like the Jo bros. Tim can make it the music business, he has his own niche. Go Tim !!!
Poor baby! How young is he? Maybe he can get better and try next season. He is adorable, though! He's just singing, and trying to enunciate every word. Do these kids even listen to the radio?? Each syllable is not perfectly enunciated in pop music - it makes it sound forced and hokey. All his best friends have been telling Tim he's awesom, I think - - and he's not ready for prime time. Not yet. Maybe Glee - that might work. Really, really cute!
I LOVE him.
I don´t care what anyone says I agree with Simon. This boy has potential to make it in the business either by singing or acting.
The performace was cool I love that song and it fit his voice. Very relevant to today´s music.
He is so CUTE... I would love of he went on to do Glee or somethingI want him on my TV every day!
I would also buy his albums!
Doesn't have a polished voice. I JUST listed to it (without watching him perform) and he had some screechy moments. He should feel the song next time. I feel that he was just singing for the heck of it.
I HATE when the judges say, "Make it your own," and when they do, they criticize them and tell them to just sing the song, and when they just sing the song, they criticize them and tell them to make it their own. It's a vicious cycle! WHAT DO THEY WANT?!! Poor contestants.
Not my favorite. might be better than last week but not a top performance to make it to next week. =(
It's funny how you accuse people of acting and commenting as though they are *experts, and then you do the same, just with an opposing opinion.
