Tim Poe has just about scammed everyone now including America’s Got Talent which aired his audition last Monday and introduced him as the injured veteran who can sing. It turns out that he gave them the photo of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Norman Bone to use for his background video package on the show. What a fraud!
TMZ reports that FreemantleMedia said that Tim Poe supplied AGT the fake photo:
A rep for FreemantleMedia — the production company behind “AGT” — tells TMZ, “We sincerely apologize to U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Norman Bone for using a photo of him in our story on Tim Poe. It was supplied to us by Tim and used on the show in good faith. It has now been removed and will not be used again.”
The photo can be found easily at U.S. Department of Defense:
U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Norman Bone directs movement as his patrol turns around on a narrow path in the mountains of Parwan province in Afghanistan on Oct. 25, 2006. Bone is a patrol leader for the 561st Military Police Company, Fort Campbell, Ky., attached to 10th Mountain Division. DoD photo by Sgt. 1st Class Dexter D. Clouden, U.S. Army. (Released)
No wonder so many of our military men and women were angry right after the show aired. There were just so many red flags everywhere. AGT really screwed up. But it’s a tough call because it looks like Tim Poe is a professional con artist.
