Good evening, readers! Jeff here! Tonight is a very special night on So You Think You Can Dance; it’s the season 10 finale! Joining finalists Fik-Shun, Jasmine Harper, Aaron Turner, and Amy Yakima are the season’s other top 20 dancers, as well as the usual judging crew and some all-stars. Tonight’s judges, despite not having any judging to do tonight, are Mary Murphy, Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman, Paula Abdul, and tWitch. They’re dressed up in gowns and tuxedos for this very special event. It’s all rather posh!

After a clip show of this season’s auditions, we’re treated to a big jazz number from the entire Top 20, set to a cool, jazzy cover of the Oasis classic “Wonderwall” by an artist named Paul Anka. It’s nice to see the whole group back together again, but it’s very strange to see some faces that I just don’t remember at all.

Tonight’s big gimmick will be a do-over of each judge’s favorite performance from this season. Paula chooses the Makenzie Dustman and Paul Karmiryan contemporary piece set to a slow version of Lady Gaga‘s “Edge of Glory”.

Following that, Adam demands to see this dance with tWitch and Fik-Shun, from just last week:

What then follows is an extended weird product placement segment for a dance film called Battle of the Year. The finalists were sent to a showing of the movie, each giving their own little mini reviews (they loved it, surprise surprise!) before the movie’s dancers come out and do a bit of jumping around that’s a bit out of place in this show. BUT, the big news mixed in here is that So You Think You Can Dance is officially coming back for an 11th season!!

Next, we get Nigel’s favorite performance, this tap trio from Aaron Turner, Curtis Holland, and Alexis Juliano. I actually hadn’t remembered this one, and it’s really great!

Our next choice is from tWitch, this Broadway piece that contains Nico Greetham’s best work of the season!

The next favorite piece pairs Aaron Turner with all-star Kathryn McCormick in one of this season most gorgeous and heartbreaking contemporary routines.

We even get this dance from the top 10 guys, a performance revisited from a lifetime ago (like, uh, early July-ish):

Then, we get a weird routine from… President Barack Obama?? Wait wait, the broadcast is just being interrupted a speech from President Obama! No worries; the show will resume in its entirety after the speech, so stick around!

Aaaand we’re back! Just before the break, we had another performance of this routine from Jasmine Harper and all-star Comfort Fedoke (Cat Deely’s favorite):

Most of the episode in cut in with little clips of moments from the season. It’s all kind of a time-kill to keep us in suspense waiting for the winner! Come on, we just wanna know!!

Anyway, we get another judge’s fav in the form of the tragic all-star piece from Travis Wall, featuring Tucker Knox and Robert Roldan, both superb dancers that have suffered debilitating injuries.

In a big mood shift, Cat then introduces us to the amazing top 20 opening that needed no introduction:

Then, we revisit Jenna Johnson’s final performance from this season, with all-star Mark Kanemura!

Eternal cutie-pies and season 10 ultra-couple Amy Yakima and Fik-Shun both chose the same dance to perform again here, and yeah, they chose the right one.

Then… THEN… Oh boy… We get a look back at Mary and Nigel over the years, capped off by a performance… from Nigel and Mary! Set to Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” it’s just the cutest. I mean look at these two!

Then, we get a special performance from a dance/beatbox duo called Movement Box. I’m not sure why they are in the episode, but oh well! Right after, it’s a look back to Travis Wall and Amy Yakima having a blast with this old contemporary routine!

Just as I thought we were getting ready to announce the winners finally, we have another routine, a big top 20 jam with all-stars and special guests and stuff. Blah, stop delaying! Anyway, here’s some screens of shirtless dancers.

For everyone complaining, remember that the competition is for America's FAVORITE dancer, not BEST. If they were looking for the best, most of the show's results would have been different throughout the years. Calm down a little.

I called Amy and Fik from their auditions. They were quite obviously the judges' faves, but the average voter looks for personality as well as technical proficiency. You could be the best in the world, if I can't connect with you or feel like I can relate to you in some way, you will not be getting my votes. Not that Jasmine and Aaron were mechanical. That's just how it happened. I'm happy for them, considering Aaron didn't even make the top 20 initially and Cat had to fight for Jasmine. That makes them winners too, in my book.

if am Aaron and Jasmine i will not go on the tour, what is this, or maybe the already no the winners before they started the show

Am very happy with the results, only because I really like both of their personalities a lot!  I would think they are the best performers this season, even if they aren't the best dancers (although Amy is also a very good technician) this year.

Normally, I always pick the best technicians, and sometime they just come across as cold and a bit clinical, but these two have charisma just oozing out of them.

REALLY REALLY disappointed in BOTH results.  I was SO pulling for Aaron and Jasmine.  BOTH of them were so adept at so many more styles than Fiction and Amy.  Terrible results.

Besides, I doubt America's BEST dancer has time for a tv competition show... lol

@jesuisJOse @rickey Unfair assumption. We don't know that her hasty departure was pouting or just clearing the deck to let Amy have her spotlight.

@jesuisJOse @rickey Oh man I didn't even notice! It's a shame; Jasmine was the better dancer by far, but I can't imagine her winning without Aaron winning, and the same for the pair that did win!

@Rickey Man, his routine is a real bummer. He's just standing there talking about chemical weapons. Terrible choreography.

@wisdomtracey Yes, they changed it I think in Season 2 -- just to stress the point that you are voting for your favorite not the best. Even when the judges keep on saying that what they seen is "the best".

It's typical passive aggressiveness of Reality TV.

@Rickey @wisdomtracey Lol! Exactly. I always think my faves are the best, so I get why people are upset when who they root for doesn't win. I might still be bitter about Danny.... Hahaha

@AaronJustinSheperd @Rickey @janessamoore They always leave such little time to announce the winners that the runner-up sometimes barely has time to react before being herded off the stage. I saw it happen on previous occasions as well.

@Rickey @janessamoore when cat called her a man with flowers was herding her off the stage...it's on camera...I guess she's a bitch for doing what she was told...
