Got Something to Add?
Thia was boring and did not bring anything special. I don't see her as an American Idol. Come on people....let's vote on vocal talent. Her voice is beautiful but she seems one dimensional. She can only sing ballads and doesn't seem very diversed in her style. Her range is limited and her personality is not assertive enough. She cannot match the talent of others. She needs to develop her stage presence and relate to the audience. She is too shy.
Thia is like a tree laden with fruits. People usually throw rocks at trees with lots of quality fruits. She gets criticisms and gets a lot of doomsayers. Trees with nothing on them are hardly noticed and are just left alone.
Be strong, Thia. People will eventually appreciate your melodious voice. Stay sweet and just be yourself. I believe you did justice to Sir Elton John's song - Daniel. You sang it like a sister singing to and for a brother.
one thing i hate about this season is that FAVORITISM is SO OBVIOUS . RIGHT RANDY ? WTF is going on ? He's always giving reasons for Thia to be voted out .
LOL cuz she has no biz being there. Nothing special about her at all, wtf you tards r thinking voting for her(how is she not dead last on DI) and 60+ votes and shes at 4 stars??????????? Get a clue.
Ill give her this, the producers have given her some of the shitiest and just bizarre tracks to sing to.
Boring, boring, boring, gone this week. Does this girl listen to herself and the other contestants? Who advises her? She doesn't make any effort to stand out. She was better in the auditions but went downhill from there. As a Filipino, I urge other Pinoys NOT to vote for her to teach her a lesson. She should have learned her lesson from the judges two episodes ago and last week, when she was in the bottom three.
Jamesbond, you're trying to say that she needs to SCREAM OUT a song to make her more interesting? I don't find her boring at all - some people does not know a good music and voice, like you. She will be remembered as the girl with the good tone of voice and good recordings.
RAA, boring? Then go back listening to your "FILIPINO" singers who only likes to copy and BELT OUT a song.
I really like thia megia voice but it's her very boring song choices are killing her chances in AI10. She choose elton john "daniel' with very slow arrangement compared to original song, totally screwing elton john "daniel" song. She may be gone tomorrow only to be remembered as "boring singer" in american idol 10.
My pick to win is boring the sh** outta me. She may be gone because of song choice and simply being too young. This girl can sing though!
THIA, WAKE UP, YOU CAN WIN THIS!
Love how she infused this performance with feeling. (I was 'feelin' it) Not as 'Disney Princess' as she has been in the past. Nice job!
I still don't get how she stays around. She's a good singer but has a super boring personality. No stage presence at all.
It's simple. She has enough fans voting for her so that she doesn't land in the bottom. Those who have heard and seen what she can do and who are loyal enough to wait for her to give an awesome performance that would make people sit up and take notice. I think I can understand what the frustration is over Thia- we know that her voice is capable of something bigger but every week she falls short of some of these expectations. And this gives the judges a chance to pan her performance much more harshly than they do the others. Sometimes I think it would have been better if she had waited a couple more years before joining AI. It would have enriched her voice, she'd have learned how to maximize its potentials, and have enough life experiences to give better texture to her performances.
Scotty was oohh so BORING!!!!
Pia was another BORING.. too pageant singing.. randy should have said this to her.
Paul was way too BORING..
These 3 should be in the bottom 3.
I think Thia was the best tonight after-all american idol is SINGING competition.
Again the judges were lousy with their comments.. It's like one say something and the rest will just add up. It's like hey Can u connect the dots?
Favoritism was way too obvious.. Isn't it RANDY?
For the first time in the competition I really felt Thia. For me Haley, Casey and her were the best of the night.
The issue with Thia is that NONE of her performances have shown the vocal power or range that other performers have already in this show. Maybe it is strategy, because in her earlier performances on America's Got Talent she really had power behind her voice.
She reminds me of a mixture of Jasmine Trias and Ramiele Malubay, good singers, but singers that really never had the vocal power to capture a fan base large enough to win.
Lastly, I'm Filipino-American and my issue is that I find Filipinos generally on these boards have never been objective. Anyways, I have a tendancy to think that in the next couple of performances she will really show her vocal power or else she will find herself in the bottom shortly.
i hope she will not be on the bottom 3 again! she needs to level up her performance if she wants to stay longer. the performance was still good but not that good to be on the top 5.
the problem with thia has always been her song choice.....she has a very very good tone...but her song choices...i hope she could do another "out here on my own" moment....but will america save her?
i'm getting kinda confused now... a few weeks back, steven tyler was talking about "perfect pitch" thing about thia's performance. and now randy was raising "pitch issues". whew! there's nothing so great about thia's song tonight, but i think she'll be safe.
Tone are good.but range are not wide enough.especially there isn't any powerful moment to impress audience.over all is okay.but didn't wow anybody.
I've loved Thia from the start. She has a beautiful voice! However I'm waiting for her to really bring it...to give me goosebumps and I haven't had that yet. I still think she has it in her so I'm gonna vote vote vote.....
She has the least performance quality. How you sell your song is even more important than how you sing it. She isn't ready for this. Great tone but always has pitch issues and can't perform to save her life. A girl so young shouldn't look like a lounge singer. And I'm not talking about moving around, what you do with your hands and eyes makes all the difference.
Okay...got it! I thought it was a silly comment so thanks for letting me know not take such insecure, bigoted remarks seriously. All it does is lose credibility for Thia, as non-filipinos assume she is only there based on her ethnicity and support from her fellow filipinos (when reading comments like this) and not her innate talent. But I'll remain hush...let them dig their own Pinoy graves.
PSH! I let the haters hate, because they're just using up their energy. It's better to just go with the flow, rather than to go against it.
snnooooorrrrre (she always has pitch issues), very boring and clueless about the lyrics to every song she sings. She smiles in the wrong places, too. She's not mature enough for this. Her voice has promise for the future.
That was very, very good. I hope she does not get eliminated. I do not know what the judges are seeing in Pia and Lauren.
She misses her Kuya (Filipino word for older brother)
Will Thia be safe singing a safe song? Asian Americans vault in to vote!
I don't think this has something to do with BONQUIQUI. She will say what she wants to say, and we can't do anything about that.
To BONQUIQUI, it just makes us happy that she still uses a tagalog word, okay. And we're supporting her not because she's Filipina, but because WE THINK she is a great singer. I love Scotty too even if he's not a Filipino. Lol. Just saying.
Seriously, I love THIA and SCOTTY! :) And this DANIEL from her? I just love it. A lot better than her heatwave.
to all filipinos here! Bonqui'qui SUCKS... napakapintasera, ang yabang at nagmumura pa...tama ba naman yun....he/she better be beautiful, sexy and talented but even so the more humble he/she must be...sama ng ugali...but guys, let's try to understand na lang Bonqui'qui, maybe malaki problem nya sa buhay niya, sarili nya...hehe
Filipino is the official language of the Philippines since the 1980s, maybe it is time for you to come home and get some much needed updates ;P
FILIPINo refers to citizens of the Philippines as well as the national language of the Philippines. TAGALOG is just a dialect which Filipino is based from.
There, Bonquiqui (Bonkiki?). Drop the attitude. If only you know what kiki is in Tagalog.
I love how the first five comments for Thia are from the Philippines. And Jamanda, YES we know Kuya is the "Tagalog" word (not Filipino, that's an ethnicity) for older brother. AND STOP BOLDING YOUR COMMENTS! That's a Bonqui'qui thang and no one else does it betta. *snap snap snap hair flip*
