The X Factor UK 2016 Results: Who Went Home In Week 6? (VIDEO)
The X Factor UK 2016 results are live! But who went home in seventh place?
The theme this week was Disco, and the judges were mixed on some of the acts. Louis wasn’t feeling either of Simon’s acts this week, whereas Simon was actually over-the-moon for most of the performers this week, particularly Matt and Saara, who earned a standing ovation from all four judges. However, is a standing ovation going to be enough to keep her out of the sing-off this week? The lifeline vote is GONE, which means it’s all down to the judges this week. It should be an interesting show, because the last-minute safety net is gone. Another fascinating tidbit comes from Dermot O’Leary, who claims that the top two vote-getters this week have never topped the vote before. So I guess we’ll have to wait until the end of the season when the vote totals are released. My guess is maybe 5 After Midnight? Either way, if Matt Terry doesn’t win this season, this could be the week where the momentum started to shift towards the eventual winner. We’ve got a race on our hands!
But who went home this week? Get the results below:
THE X FACTOR UK 2016 – WEEK SIX RESULTS
Dermot reminds us that there is no Lifeline Vote this week. The bottom two acts will go directly to the sing-off.
The first act returning next week is…SAARA ALTO!
The second act returning next week is…MATT TERRY!
The third act returning next week is…5 AFTER MIDNIGHT!
The fourth act returning next week is…HONEY G!
The fifth and final act guaranteed a spot in next week’s show is…EMILY MIDDLEMAS!
RYAN LAWRIE and SAM LAVERY are in the Bottom 2!
No real surprises here, although this being Sam’s second time in the Bottom 2 in as many weeks reads as a rejection of Simon’s song-choosing ability. Give these girls something upbeat, man! Actually, I think I would save Ryan between these two. Sam is a sweet girl, but her voice has never been that compelling to me. At least Ryan is kind of interesting, from a performance standpoint.
BOTTOM 2 SING-OFF
Sam Lavery is up first, singing “No More Drama” by Mary J. Blige, and it’s her most passionate performance by a mile. But I still don’t really like it. She just always sounds like she’s singing the wrong kinds of songs for her voice. She strikes me more as an indie-type singer than a big balladeer. But that’s the lane she keeps traveling down, and it doesn’t really work. That said, I could see this going either way, depending on how Ryan does.
Ryan Lawrie sings “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” by Oasis, and I think there’s an argument to be made that Sam performed better. But I liked this song choice better. In fact, I kind of want to see Ryan do a ballad next week, if he makes it through. Much like with Sam, I feel there are sides of Ryan we’ve yet to see due to how he’s being mentored.
Simon Cowell praises both acts but backs his girl, voting to send home RYAN LAWRIE!
Nicole Scherzinger is proud of Ryan and calls Sam her “warrior princess”, but she has to stick by her own act. Nicole votes to send home SAM LAVERY!
Louis Walsh reminds us all that Sam Lavery was his wildcard choice, so he votes to send home RYAN LAWRIE!
Sharon Osbourne can’t make up her mind so she votes to take it to deadlock by voting to send home SAM LAVERY!
WE’RE GOING TO DEADLOCK!
Dermot has the results, and from the look of dread on her face, I think Sam knows what’s coming…
SAM LAVERY is eliminated from THE X FACTOR UK 2016!
Simon is gutted and slumps back in his chair, while Sam looks like her dog has just been kicked down a flight of stairs. Poor girl.
In a tearful exit interview, she thanks Simon for his mentoring, saying that she feels like a completely different person from her first audition, for all the right reasons. A classy exit. Still, I can’t really complain about this result. If nothing else, with next week being Movies Week, I think a lot of acts will have the chance to shine. I guess we’ll see.
But what do you think of the results? Sound off in the comments!
