The X Factor Australia 2015: Grand Final Brings Out the Best In the Contestants (VIDEO)
The Grand Final is here for The X Factor Australia 2015! It’s all come down to this, as Chris Isaak leads his remaining boy, Cyrus Villanueva, into battle against James Blunt’s remaining Over, Louise Adams, and Guy Sebastian’s remaining group, Jess & Matt.
It’s probably a bit cliche to say so, but this grand final really did bring out the best in the remaining contestants. I think Cyrus may have stolen the show with his version of Labrinth’s “Jealous”, but Louise was right there with him with her take on the Muse version of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good”, while Jess & Matt delivered one of my favorite performances of the season with their take on Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down”. This might have been my favorite Grand Final in X Factor Australia history.
But what do you think of The X Factor Australia 2015 Grand Final? Watch all the performances below:
THE X FACTOR AUSTRALIA 2015: GRAND FINAL
THE TOP 3 GRAND FINALISTS, “WHAT I DID FOR LOVE”
CYRUS VILLANUEVA, “EARNED IT”
JESS & MATT, “NOTHING MATTERS”
LOUISE ADAMS, “SOMEONE LIKE YOU”
CYRUS VILLANUEVA, “STONE”
JESS & MATT, “GEORGIA”
LOUISE ADAMS, “HISTORY”
JESS & MATT, “LAY ME DOWN”
LOUISE ADAMS, “FEELING GOOD”
CYRUS VILLANUEVA, “JEALOUS”
Thoughts: I would be absolutely stunned if Cyrus didn’t win this competition, so I’m predicting him to win in a landslide. That said, it’s kind of annoying that the show felt the need to stack the deck so far in his favor, what with the long breaks he got in-between each song (the videos above are in the actual performance order). Cyrus didn’t need the help, honestly. Dude has got this in the bag, and I’d be shocked if he didn’t lead the vote every single week of this competition. Of course, I’m less certain about who takes second place. I would imagine Louise is a lock, but Jess & Matt have really grown considerably throughout the competition, and I think that’s worth rewarding. I love both acts, but if it were up to me, Jess & Matt would place ahead of Louise. That said, I’m happy no matter how the chips fall. This is a great, deserving final three, and I can’t wait to see what they do in their careers on the other side of this competition. Congratulations to all the finalists on an outstanding season!
