‘The Walking Dead’ casts ‘Wire’ alum to play major character

Fans of The Walking Dead graphic novels will know the name Tyreese, given that many have wondered just when the show will integrate him into the series proper. Well, it looks like his arrival is coming sooner rather than later, as TVLine is reporting that Chad Coleman has been cast in the role.

Best known for his work on HBO’s The Wire, and having recently appeared on such shows as The Good Wife, Coleman is set to debut as Tyreese later this season. It remains to be seen how the character will be integrated into the show, given that he appears in the comics long before the show’s current plotline, but it’s been rumored that he’ll appear before the first half of this third season ends in two weeks.
