‘The Walking Dead’ adds actor Larry Gilliard Jr. to the cast
The Walking Dead is looking to repopulate its cast for its fourth season, following a bloody third season that saw the gruesome deaths of several of the series’ characters.
The first new addition arrives in the form of actor Larry Gilliard Jr., who will play Bob Stookey, “a former Army medic who is deeply haunted by his past — both before and after the apocalypse.” He is described as “a loner, though he maintains a charming yet self-deprecating façade.”
In The Walking Dead comics, Stookey was an alcoholic resident of Woodbury responsible for saving the Governor’s life following his torture at the hands of Michonne.
Gilliard, a veteran of The Wire, joins a cast that includes fellow Wire vet Chad Coleman, who plays Tyreese on the hit zombie drama.
Season four premieres this fall on AMC.
