‘The Blacklist’ Renewed for Season 4 by NBC

One of NBC’s highest-rated dramas is coming back for a fourth season, to the surprise of nobody.

The Blacklist has been renewed for Season 4, in a news tidbit revealed by series creator Jon Bokenkamp on The Blacklist: Exposed podcast on Monday.

“We knew about that a while ago, it’s one of those things that’s hard to keep quiet. But yes, we’re renewed through the fourth season,” said Bokenkamp. “Hopefully we don’t tank that out, we got a lot of story to tell.”

NBC hasn’t been shy about early renewals for the 2015-2016 season, as The Blacklist joins a trio of early renewals, as Blindspot, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD were renewed last month for next season.

Although Blindspot is gradually taking over The Blacklist as NBC’s top-rated drama, James Spader drama is still one of NBC’s highest-rated shows. Hell, if it was still back in its Monday 10:00 PM post-Voice time slot from Season 1, it might be even bigger in the ratings. Still, the show has carved out a comfortable home on Thursday nights.
