‘The Bachelor’ Stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell Deny Breakup

The Bachelor stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell have been detailing in the ins and outs of their relationship on Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, their show on Freeform. The season finale airs tonight, as the couple addresses some of the issues they’ve faced throughout their engagement. However, despite rumors to the contrary, Ben and Lauren insist they aren’t breaking up, even if they have admitted to postponing the wedding indefinitely.

In a recent interview with Extra, the couple opened up about the change to their relationship, clarifying that although the wedding is off for now (as revealed on a recent episode of their Freeform series), that doesn’t mean they’re breaking up. It simply means they’re refocusing their priorities.

“I think at this point, Lauren and I are focusing on our relationship, which is obvious, we’re definitely together, we are happily engaged,” Ben said. “The wedding in our mind — ‘Where’s your ring at?’ — is still on, but we are just taking some time to help plan that where it’s not stressful or overwhelming.”

“Any couple feels the same pressures, you get engaged and everyone asks when is the wedding,” Lauren added. “We’ve navigated it relatively well and doing things on our own timeline, honestly.”

When asked about children in their future, Lauren was every bit as firm in her answer.

“We just try to not focus on what’s next and just really enjoy each other and enjoy being engaged.”

We wish the best to Ben and Lauren, and hope this actually leads to a happy future for the two. After all, The Bachelor franchise could use a win after so many breakups. Granted, Bachelor In Paradise had three couples get engaged this season, although one of those relationships has already ended, admittedly. And the marriage of Sean and Catherine Lowe is proof enough that people can find love on these shows. So here’s hoping Ben and Lauren can continue to make it work.
