‘Teen Wolf’ Star Holland Roden Denies ‘Spider-Man 2′ MJ Rumors
I got about five phone calls in one day congratulating me.
That may be true, but the Teen Wolf star is denying rumors that she is next in line to play Spider-Man’s favorite ginger, Mary Jane Watson, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (or 3).
Rumors have been swirling ever since word broke of actress Shailene Woodley’s removal from the upcoming sequel. Apparently, Woodley had shot several scenes as MJ, only to learn that her role was cut and allegedly postponed until the third film would go into production. Of course, word of a possible replacement followed.
Internet buzz over Roden’s rumored casting spread, leading the MTV star to make a statement laying the gossip to rest at San Diego Comic-Con.
One of my very, very, very best friends didn’t decide to consult me before he [talked about it]… We’re both in the business but we don’t necessarily talk about the business, so I think he just assumed it was true and he said it in an interview and then it spread like wildfire.
Hmm… maybe if Holland Roden plays her cards right, she can parlay these rumors into an actual breakout film role. Judging by her work as Lydia on Teen Wolf, she’d be a perfect fit. Good luck, Holland!
