Teen Wolf – Season 2 Episode 3 – Full Video and Review – Ice Pick
TVI love Teen Wolf so much! In Episode 3: “Ice Pick”, the battle lines are forming. Derek Hale continues to convert new werewolves for his pack, while Allison Argent begins her hunter training. As usual Scott McCall is caught in between. More clues are revealed about Lydia and Jackson, and the lizard-monster attacks again.
Now that the scope of Teen Wolf has grown for Season 2, I’ve noticed that a lot of scenes have become a bit disjointed. Though everything comes together in the editing, the story doesn’t look that smooth, specially in the acting. There are scenes where the acting is too intense, when there was no build up. It could be a flaw in the script or the actors themselves, but I definitely notice some acting continuity issues. Scenes aren’t shot in a linear fashion, I know, for practical purposes, but it doesn’t have to be obvious. In scenes that are isolated, you can’t tell that much — but for back to back scenes, it’s kinda distracting.

Allison Begins Her Training
At a gas station, Allison sees a mysterious guy on a motorcycle. The lights go off and she is kidnapped. When she wakes up, she discovers that her father Chris Argent is also tied up to a chair, while a disembodied voice tells her what would happen if a hunter gets bitten (yada, yada, yada). Chris frees himself, then reveals that it’s all a setup for the beginning of Allison’s training to be a hunter. The guy on the motorcycle, Bennett, is with him.
“Is this how we’re going to have father daughter talks from now on?” Allison asks.
“No, this is how we are going to train you,” says Chris.
He says that they will kill Isaac when they find him. (He’s gone missing after last episode). He also reveals that the sons in the family are trained to be soldiers, while the daughters are trained to be leaders. So the final decision to kill Isaac came from her mother! (She’s so evil).
They give her an arrow — and Allison is able to free herself after 2 1/2 hours. She’s a bit upset, but Bennett tells her that it took him 3 hours on his first try. She leaves. And before Bennett gets on his motorcycle, a tail appears by his feet and he gets sliced in the neck by the lizard-monster. He falls to the ground.
Later, Chris tells Allison to keep an eye on Lydia whom everyone knows was attacked by the Alpha and may turn into a werewolf — although all she is having right now are some strange hallucinations of the Alpha while awake.

Derek Builds His Pack
Erica is an epileptic. During PE class, she freaks out during the rock climbing wall exercise. After the class, she climbs by herself but stops midpoint and falls. Luckily, Scott had sensed her distress (new powers!) and ran back to the gym and caught her.
She ends up at the hospital, and after the nurse leaves (who is Scott’s mother by the way — she’s always treating every patient in every scene on this show) — Derek rolls her bed to the morgue and offers her the bite. She laments about how awful it is to be ridiculed as an epileptic.
The next time we see her, she is all hot and sexy as she walked into the mess hall.
“What the holy hell is that?” asks Lydia.
Erica takes a bite from someone’s apple then heads out. Scott and Stiles follow her and she cliimbs into Derek’s ride. So she said yes to the bite.
Meanwhile, in science class, Jackson comes up with a theory why he wasn’t transforming — he must have been immune, and he caught it (via saliva, etc) from Lydia who also hasn’t transformed. She confronts her about it which freaks her out. She cries in the bathroom and starts getting visions of the old Alpha (and petals).
Boyd works at the ice skating rink. He takes the bus to school and eats alone all the time.
Stiles contacted Boyd because he wanted the keys to the rink so he and Scott can double date with Lydia and Allison. After starting the negotiation at $20 for the keys, Stiles ultimately ponied up the $50 that Boyd wanted.
The Double Date. At the skating rink, Stiles is making no progess with Lydia since she seems to have no emotional connection to him — although she did accept his Reese’s peanut butter cup (is this a product placement MTV?) Allison and Scott meanwhile are having the time of their lives, even if Scott didn’t know how to skate and was falling all over the place. At some point Lydia starts hallucinating about the Alpha again and starts screaming hysterically in the middle of the rink.
Back at school, Scott confronts Erica — who seems to be trying to seduce him. Scott says that Derek needs at least three wolves to form a pack. Erica says Derek doesn’t need to add anymore since there’s already Isaac and Scott. Scott isn’t convinced. Meanwhile, Allison looks on from afar. Could she be jealous?
Cut to a quick scene with Allison’s mother. She discovers Scott’s love notes to Allison… then quickly investigates. She cuts her arm with a kitchen knife — it’s a huge wound — she’s a pyscho! Scott’s mom ends up treating her in the hospital (of course) and they have a talk about Scott. She learns that Scott doesn’t seem so heartbroken for someone who broke up with a girlfriend against his will. (da-da-da DUM)
In the mess hall, Allison and Scott talk. She says she’s not jealous about the Erica thing previously. She also warns Scott not to get caught in what is happening.
“It’s like battle lines are being drawn… there’s always crossfire,” she tells him.
“I know. What am I supposed to do? I can’t just stand by. I can’t pretend to be normal,” he says.
“I don’t want you to be normal I want you to be alive.”
She leaves and Stiles arrives. They discover that Boyd is missing.
Stiles goes to Boyd’s house where he is confronted and knocked out by Erica. He wakes up in the garbage later.
Scott goes back to the ice skating rink where he finds Boyd. He tries to convince him not to join Derek.
Then Derek, along with Isaac and Erica arrive. Scott fights Isaac and Erica and beat them. Then Derek fights Scott and beats him.
While on the ground, Scott pleads to Boyd: “Don’t. You don’t want to be like them.”
“You’re right,” Boyd tells him — showing him the bite on his stomach. “I wanna be like you.”
Derek has his pack!

Odds and Ends
Meanwhile, Jackson continues his search for answers. He goes to Derek’s old house but instead of finding Derek, he’s greeted by Chris and his men. They are looking after Bennett who is dead and has claw marks all over his chest.
Chris brings Bennett to the Animal Clinic where Scott works, hoping that the vet can find out what happened.
Later, Scott arrives. The wound Derek inflicted on him would not heal.
“That’s because it’s from an Alpha,” says the doc. “I think maybe we better have that talk now.” (A talk he avoided earlier by giving Scott a $2.50 raise).
Jackson vents his frustration by throwing lacrosse balls. His truck — with TRD Off Road branding (product placement alert!) — gets stuck in the mud. After a short struggle, he ends up lifting the truck. He has super strength! He’s not immune after all. Maybe he’s just slow.
