Taylor Swift, Adam Levine, and Nicki Minaj join MTV’s ‘Restore the Shore’ benefit
TVMTV and the cast of Jersey Shore are coming together, with the help of an A-list assortment of music acts, to help the beleaguered Jersey Shore recover in the wake of the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The one-hour special, Restore the Shore, airs tonight at 11:00 PM EST on MTV.
The fundraising special will feature on-air appearances by One Direction, Alicia Keys, Mac Miller, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Pharrell, P!nk, Demi Lovato, Kim Kardashian, Ne-Yo, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, No Doubt, fun., Carly Rae Jepsen, Swizz Beats, the Jonas Brothers, Ludacris, All Time Low, Sean Kingston, Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning, Nikki Reed, Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, Jay Leno, the cast of The View, Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Carson Daly of NBC’s The Voice, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid of FOX’s The X Factor, Wendy Williams and more.
The show will also feature musical performances by Gym Class Heroes (with Oh Land) performing the “The Fighter,” and American Idol champ Phillip Phillips performing his megahit “Home.”

Also, from 4:00 PM-to-12:00 AM EST, stars from various MTV shows, such as Jersey Shore, Awkward, Teen Wolf, Teen Mom, The Real World and The Challenge will be calling donors to thank them for their donations, live from MTV’s Times Square studio. MTV hopes that this approach, in which celebrities call the donors instead of the donors calling in hopes of speaking to a celebrity, will pay off.
Donations can be made via Indiegogo at RestoretheShore.MTV.com or by texting SHORE to 85944. All proceeds will go to Architecture for Humanity, the non-profit that organized the rebuilding efforts in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, and in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. Indiegogo.com, and in conjunction with PayPal.com, will waive 100% of the fees on all donations, while MTV Shop, along with select Modell’s locations in NY, NJ, PA, DE and Modells.com, will offer the official MTV “Restore the Shore” t-shirt for $20, with all proceeds going to Architecture for Humanity’s rebuilding fund. Donations of $25 or more will earn the donor an exclusive “Restore the Shore” song bundle, which includes 30 of the best songs from the six season run of MTV’s “Jersey Shore.”
