For this round we will go to The X Factor rules again. Double elimination to determine the Final 3. Lowest votes is eliminated automatically. Our panel of judges will select who goes home from the next 2.

The result of the Top 8 is in and it’s a bit of a shocker (for me at least).

One of our judges JeffreyChrist was not available tonight so we had the other three judges (Noelle, Howard and Gabe) determine one of the eliminations, in a best of three with no chance of a “deadlock”.

It’s a double elimination and here are the results!

After a shocking Top 12 Results where we saw 4 contestants go home including American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, we’ll now use The X Factor rules… in another double elimination! The lowest vote-getter will automatically be eliminated then our coaching panel: JeffreyChrist, Howard, Noelle and Gabe will vote for who goes home from the next two lowest. In an event of “deadlock” 2-2, I will choose who goes home. So vote for your favorite!

The Top 13 was a double elimination and the the results are in: Marcus Canty has been voted off! Beverly McLellan has been voted off!

However: I’ve decided to use the judges’ save! (So it’s out of the way). I am saving Bev from elimination — so we move on with a Top 12.

We are using The Voice rules. The Top 12 are divided into 4 teams (“coached” by four of our contributors here on Rickey.org). The teams are:

Team JeffreyChrist: Pia Toscano, Javier Colon, Vicci Martinez
Team Howard: Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene, James Durbin
Team Noelle: Dia Frampton, Lauren Alaina, Beverly McLellan
Team Gabe: Haley Reinhart, Scotty McCreery, Josh Kracjik

You will be voting for one member of each team to save and each coach will choose one to save from their remaining two members. It’s gonna be a bloodbath – quadruple elimination!

Welcome to the first season of VIX! Where we choose the winner of The Voice, American Idol and The X Factor for 2011.

I have chosen the Top 4 from each reality show from last year to compete. Every day we watch some performances, vote, eliminate and repeat the next day until we have a winner. Rules will rotate among the three shows so some days we may have a judges’ save (that would be me), some days I’ll choose who goes home, etc.

I know some of you are fiercely loyal to your show (I’m looking at you Idol fanboy), but hopefully we can have an open mind and vote for these fine contestants on singing merit. However, these things start off with good intentions and just fall apart, so I expect things to get crazy. Will we have shockers? Will we get the Dia Frampton vs Haley Reinhart finale we’ve been dreaming of? Hopefully we’ll all just have fun in the process.
