Tonight’s Vegas sort of has me wondering what the point is with this show, as all its earlier ambitions have been squandered in favor of becoming yet another in a long line of CBS crime procedurals. Which is not to say “Estinto” is awful, but it certainly leaves me with a bone to pick.
Check out the recap and review of Vegas – Season 1 Episode 10 – Estinto:
Vegas takes a break from having Ralph and Savino butt heads, by giving us “Exposure”, an episode in which their respective storylines have almost nothing to do with one another at all.
Does this approach make for a worthwhile episode?

Vegas plants the seeds for some huge conflicts down the line with “Bad Seeds”, the best episode of the series so far. What threat brings Ralph and Vincent into a temporary alliance? Whose life is threatened with execution by his allies? And what is the outcome of the mayoral election?
Check out the recap video and review of Vegas – Season 1 Episode 7 – Bad Seeds:
Vegas is doing its level best to come across as the real thing: a procedural that does more than simply solve cases. Tonight’s episode draws Ralph and Savino closer together through a case that involves both their interests, and puts them in direct, gun-wielding conflict by episode’s end.

Vegas shows sparks of ambition in “Solid Citizens” by deepening the characters of its two leads, while introducing a chilling new villain, creating an episode that’s solid, even if the citizens around it aren’t.
Check out the recap and review for “Solid Citizens”:
Vegas goes legit with “(Il)Legitimate.” One of our characters might not make it out alive, if the mob has anything to say about it.
Who’s running the risk of sleeping with the fishes this week?
Check out the recap and review for “(Il)Legitimate”:
All that glitters isn’t gold on Vegas, as the freshman drama stumbles a bit with an episode that occasionally plods along, despite an excellent subplot involving the Chicago mob. “All That Glitters” features the best of what the series has to offer, but also some of its biggest problems.
Check out the recap and review of “All That Glitters”:
Vegas looks to cement its position as TV’s #1 new show with “Money Plays,” an episode that advances the conflict between Ralph and Savino, while also commenting on the emergence of Las Vegas as we know it today.

CBS finally gets a new series that’s good enough to stand against cable with Vegas, the new series from Goodfellas screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi, starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis in a vice-ridden Vegas circa 1960.
Is it really worth all the hype?
