Texas Chainsaw Massacre tops Friday box office

In a surprise, the latest incarnation of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre – 3D, topped the Box office on Friday, debuting with $10 million. The Trey Songz-fronted film is expected to win the weekend with $21-25 million.

It was expected that holiday heavyweights Django Unchained, Les Miserables, or The Hobbit would top.

Trey Songz added to heavy ensemble Baggage Claim cast

R&B singer Trey Songz has been added to the cast for the upcoming romantic comedy, Baggage Claim. The film focuses on a 35-year-old flight attendant who doesn’t want t go to sister’s engagement party without a fiancé of her own, so she searches for a man.

Trey Songz performs on Today, talks about Ne-Yo comments

Trey Songz performed his hit “Heart Attack”, on Today, in promotion of his album, Chapter 5, which was released today. He also talked about Ne-Yo’s comments about him on Hot 97 and The Breakfast Club. Honestly, Ne-Yo needs to get that out of here. Ne-Yo has made several failed attempts at pop, relinquishing R&B at times, which is contributing to the genre’s downfall. Songz on the other hand has not. Just saying.

Trey Songz nabs first UK top ten

R&B singer Trey Songz finally reached his breakthrough in the UK, as “Simply Amazing”, the second single from the album in the country came in at #8 on the UK Singles Chart. Stateside, we were service the T.I.-assisted “2 Reasons”, but Songz has called “Amazing” one of the most important songs of his career, so hopefully we receive the song here as well. Meanwhile, first single “Heart Attack” is making moves on pop radio. Exciting times for Songz! Chapter 5 is in stores this Tuesday.
