Nigel Lythgoe has release an official statement regarding is firing from American Idol as executive producer. Hopefully FOX won’t cancel So You Think You Can Dance. Or else I will have to look for Nigel’s works on cable.

The Wrap is reporting that American Idol is going to have a total revamp for next season. FOX plans to fire executive producer Nigel Lythgoe and all four judges.
American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe just openly threw this season’s judges under the bus. He told Zap2It that he’s worried about the lack of chemistry of Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson on the panel.
If he had his way, Nigel Lythgoe would be bringing back Nicki Minaj as a judge on American Idol next season. What do you guys think? Should Nicki come back next season? Take the poll:

Nigel Lythgoe told TMZ that it would be very difficult to replace Ryan Seacrest if he leaves American Idol. However, he did add that the show is not beholden to one personality (citing Simon Cowell as an example of course).
If Ryan ever leaves — would that be the end of American Idol? Or is it already dead with him still in it?
My take: American Idol will never die! Long live American Idol!
Here’s a video of Nigel Lythgoe telling Lauren Sanchez to her face that Mike Darnell, the head of alternative programming on FOX, fired her as host of So You Think You Can Dance after the first season because she was pregnant.
He adds that “it should be illegal.” Well, it is! The Civil Rights Act of 1964 says that “Employers who have at least 15 workers are not allowed to fire or force a worker to leave because she is pregnant.”
Let’s hope that Lauren has lawyered up!
