Melanie Amaro and Astro remain with Epic Records – Report
Just because Melanie Amaro and Astro aren’t on Epic’s site doesn’t mean aren’t on board anymore – and Melanie says she is releasing her album with or without the label!

It’s a shame how the involved parties have handled the career of The X Factor season one winner Melanie Amaro. Now there is no telling when her album is coming out.
Here’s the new single from The X Factor winner Melanie Amaro: “Long Distance”.
Another non-hit song unfortunately. And her reign is almost over. Can she even stage a comeback after all these duds?
After the single release a while back, Melanie Amaro‘s video for “Don’t Fail Me Now” has finally debuted. Mel looks stunning and the video is alright, but the song is basic & I am so disappointed in the way they are handling her.

The X Factor winner Melanie Amaro has posted a new song on SoundCloud: “Love Me Now.”
This is just OK for me. I liked her first single better.

Usually five months out, a singing competition champ has been working the press and is about to release a studio album. Well, that’s certainly not the case for The X-Factor Season 1 winner Melanie Amaro.
Since being crowned the winner last December, she’s remained relatively out of the public eye. Save for a single release (“Respect”) and a Pepsi Superbowl commercial, Amaro has been virtually invisible.
Reports from The Hollywood Reporter indicate that Amaro is undergoing a strict pop star bootcamp to get in shape. She’s under a supervised diet and exercise regime. Producers are expecting a big reveal of a “whole new Melanie Amaro.”

American Idol · Reality TV · The X Factor
Last night, Simon Cowell tweeted that maybe the winner of The Voice, The X Factor and American Idol can compete in a “super final” — a SuperBowl if you will of the three singing competition shows.
Nigel Lythgoe, the producer of Idol, quickly shot the idea down because his show produces “stars” (as if a competition like that would be beneath the franchise).
Well, sorry Nigel, nothing is going to stop us from doing it anyway. As a warm-up for this season, let’s use the winners of last year’s competitions for the first ever Voice-Idol-Factor-Sing-Off! Melanie Amaro vs. Javier Colon vs. Scotty McCreery? Who is your champion?
Here are videos of their “signature songs” on their respective shows plus a poll in the end. Later, I’m going to expand this to include the finalist from each program (maybe Top 4) so we can have an ultimate-ultimate winner (I think Haley Reinhart is going to win that one knowing you guys). But for now, just the winners – take the poll!
Here’s video of The X Factor Melanie Amaro at the Pepsi Super Bowl party last weekend. She performed ‘Respect’ and ‘Listen’.
