And so it’s the end for one of the best new series of the TV season, as Last Resort wraps up its storylines with a finale that is surprisingly satisfying, and unquestionably moving.

Last Resort is getting closer to the end, with only three episodes left to wrap up its story. Yet new intrigues are introduced in “Blue Water”, an episode that’s still as tense as anything on TV right now, yet an episode that doesn’t live up to last week’s incredible hour (though what possibly could?).

Last Resort may have been canceled by ABC, but the network has promised that the series will get to air its remaining episodes, which means we’ll definitely get an ending for this tragically under-watched series. “Big Chicken Dinner” is a big step towards getting us to a conclusion that’s satisfying, even if it feels like there’s more story to be told.

ABC broke word today that it would be cancelling freshman dramas Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue due to poor ratings. Will they get to finish out their 13-episode order at least, or is the cancellation effective immediately?

Last Resort has grown more confident in its ability to plot gripping conflicts, but “Nuke It Out” has miles of ground to cover in only an hour’s time: from background information to plot-twisting revelations, and character-building moments in between. It’s the busiest episode of the season so far.
