Zico Coconut Water has formally sued Chad Ochocinco for having a bad reputation. The company signed Chad to be a spokesman but the footballer and reality TV personality got arrested for attacking his ex-wife.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson just lost his endorsement deal with Zico Coconut Water less than a month after he got it.
“In light of recent events involving Mr. Johnson, we have decided to terminate our relationship,” the company said in a statement. Ochocinco got arrested just last weekend for domestic violence and his life has been been a fast downward spiral ever since: his wife filed for divorce, he lost his job with the Miami Dolphins (which was aired on HBO this week) and now a lost endorsement. Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson was arrested for domestic violence Saturday night. He allegedly head-butted his new wife Evelyn Lozada during an argument.
Chad won’t be released until he meets with a judge which could be as late as Monday morning. He legally changed his name back to “Chad Johnson” on July 23 this year.
