Banshee is from Alan Ball, the creator of True Blood. The series is set in a small town in Pennsylvania Amish country and features an enigmatic ex-con/martial arts expert posing as a murdered sheriff who imposes his own brand of justice while also cooking up plans that serve his own interests.

Cinemax premiered their new show Banshee today on BuzzFeed in Animated GIF. That’s a first! I didn’t even think that could be possible. Kudos to Cinemax for creative marketing. But really, you can tell a story in GIF. And here’s proof of concept. I’m very impressed!
