Of course, Nigel Lythgoe throws the Asians under the bus. Whatever. As if Marko and Tadd have not contributed to why this is the “most talented season of So You Think You Can Dance ever.” No wonder the ratings are down. The blatant manipulation is so obvious and a big turn off to the loyal fans of this show. And I’ve watched since Season 1.

Nigel has been saying (for a while now) that the winner will be a girl. He shouldn't be setting it up like that. I don't think this is about race, Rickey. Both Tadd and Marko are great dancers. They just had the misfortune of having to present bad choreography, and I did tweet that to Nigel last night. I don't fault the dancers. They have to do what they are given and I think they did the best they could. Let's also figure in how many routines they had to do last night (way too many), and exhaustion, stress.
the choreography was blah... not my fave performance. i was excited when i heard they are doing a routine together... and i was disappointed. they are way much better that that performance...
UGH, they were definitely screwed over with this routine. I mean COME ON.
Why introduce something new on the GD finale???
And THEN have that new dance be so boring and awkward??? I don't think anyone could've made that look good. It was just terrible.
Poor guys. They got the short end of the stick with this one.
I agree that the routine was poorly conceived, but so was the performance. Mark Ballus's creation for Sasha was also boring, but at least she performed it as well as she could with the material she had to work with. No, this year the girls shone, the boys barely made a ripple, if you are being honest.
Also, I never thought of the racial thing. I'm from PA and since we are the home of many coal mines, it never occurred to me that it meant anything more than COAL MINERS, which was stupid, but not profiling. JMO

You could feel how tired they were. How do the producers think that overworking the dancers is a good idea?
I'm voted extra hard for Marko. The constant pimping of the girls (just from Nigel) has been over the top all season. I love both Marko and Tadd. I'm hoping the overpimping backfires, it's such a shame, I was a huge fan of Melanie at the beginning of the season. I blame Nigel. :(

That was weird... the whole wheelbarrow/miner theme was awkward. The only thing that could've made it worse was if the producers made them wear rice hats. Whatever. Hang in there boys!!!
I completely understand why you found the disparaging cultural overtones in this routine offensive. The Producers should be ashamed for perpetuating racial stereotyping. Tadd & Marko deserved a routine worthy of their dazzling talent.
That choreography was whack! I appreciate the throwback to the 90s but the concept was lackluster. And you couldn't hear the stomping.
Too bad but still GO PINOYS!
